Just think about it, theres still a good month to two for most of us before its even preseason. Its the time of the year where you dont really know what to do and just wanna put some boots on.
Spring=Sad that the snows gone and winters over
Summer=Alright cuz theres stuff to keep us occupied and ya can party up at the lake
Fall=The worst, its getting to cold to really want to be very active any more but not cold enough for snow yet, we're all in the midst of serious skiing withdrawals and its all we can think about as we watch every ski movie we have over and over, noramlly several a day
Winter=Finally, the best time ever has returned
i surfed/spearfished every day at home and now that i have moved up to mammoth ive just been biking/fishing every day and skating some. also mammoth is beautiful so i can just sit down and enjoy my surroundings
Today I wen down to the cabin where its been rainin for like 3 weeks, we were just hangin out and a buddy put in WESC 1992 (World Extreme Ski Championships) Pretty crazy what Doug Coombs throws down, But I got bored of all that big mountain footage and decided to try on my boots, and now I am even more hopeful for the weather to drop below 32 so it will snow and I can ski
only a few weeks left in the season here (been awesome for Aussie standards)..... thank God all the movies are dropping now to get me through the upcoming hot summer, plus NS, freeskier and the mini podcast vids!
summer= dh mtb, and moto and partying took my mind off skiing abit, and another plus was no school
right now= weathers gettin shitty for biking, school, everyone stops having parties because of rain and school and stuff, your so close to skiing but so far away
ski season= finally....
all i know is when we get our first big dump of snow im hiking up somewhere, anywhere and have a good time
i love this time of year, it gets dark sooner, more house parties cause its too cold to be outside at night. u can start wearing hats and jackets, its nice and cold when u go to sleep, falls a sick time of year
This time of year in the UK is the pits. Dark all the time and wont see snow until december if extrmely lucky, cant wait to get out of the country!!!!!
Sometimes having an off time is good.. Think about it.. If you skied year around and skiing was your job you wouldn't be as intensely stoked on it ever. Sure you'd be happy, but nothing like that first day of the season when you haven't been skiing for months and your "stoke factor" is through the rough. I know I wouldn't hike killington and ski down double dipper with 2 inches of snow in october if it wasn't for the off season anticipation..
winter-.....
spring- lax season and good skiing at the beginning, sick fly fishing
summer- mt hood, surfing, buying skis
fall- sucks, school starts, cold but no snow, gets progressively worse untill it snows, fishing sucks because water is warm but air is cold, mtb is the best though
i hear ya, i got the ski fever way earlier than years past and it sucks cause all i can do is watch movies and spend all my money on new gear that i cant use yet! i need to move out of NY ha ha
for real dude, school just flat out sucks too. cus all i can get stoked on is a new teaser or movie, then its just like bummer i cant be on the hill...
You guys are way too down on the great weather. Take advantage of the warmth, go play football or soccer or golf with friends. go longboard or something. Then when ski season starts go ski so you can have fun all year round. I love skiing as much as the rest of you but i love warm weather also, take advantage of it
Well for me since i ski at hood, spring comes and i take a month long break and dom summer stuff, then summer comes and i usually only go up a couple times cause im poor, and summer is a good time to heal anyway. and since timberline is awesome my season just started again. I love this place
