Forests do this naturally which is why a lot of companies are planting billions of trees, but also there is some large scale advancements involving building materials that actually filter greenhouse gasses (methane, C02, C0) out of the air. Couple that with some recent developments in C02 Scrubbers (On a massive scale), smart landfills which use a technology that consists of gas pumps that convert biogas (methane) into energy (which also filters the biogas out of the air emitted from landfills) can be used in other industries like livestock. It may be "wishful thinking", but it's not actually impossible. A lot of those papers stating that climate change is irreversible were funded by gas companies and other harmful industries as a last-resort tactic to instill a nihilistic perspective that would keep people buying their products because "it's impossible to reverse climate change the earth is already fucked, might as well give up and keep driving my car". Revival of the steam engine is on the come up (Which is 80% efficient at converting combustion into torque as opposed to the roughly 25% efficiency of gasoline engines. Wind and solar springing up everywhere I look, the only mentality I can possibly have is to be optimistic. Earth is my home I refuse to stop participating and advocating for the preservation of it, and a "we're doomed" attitude is not only incorrect but also just shitty and makes people depressed lol

If you think planting forests will be a solution, they your vastly mistaken. Planting trees, while sucking in CO2 could still make the planet warmer along with other green surfaces because of a decrease in albedo or the measurement of sun reflection on the surface of the earth. Forests have been found to hold in more heat than anywhere else on the planet relative to both location and geography(deserts are obviously drier) but it’s not to say that forest are also contributing to the decline of permafrost in Siberia. A study from a research center up there(the same one that wants to bring back the wooly mammoth) found that forest regions had a surface temperature(from trapped heat) of about 2-6 degrees celcius warmer which has lead to an increase in permafrost decline. Some of this can be attributed to a destabilizing arctic climate, but also new swaths of forest trapping in heat. IMO, it’s not about simply planting trees, it planting them where they belong and have a benefit as opposed to a drawback. Permafrost traps methane which is far more worse than CO2 so the release of methane is very important as well. Trees and green spaces in warm climates could be a good thing, but in others like far north where it’s supposed to be cold, could be a drawback. Siberia has seen a higher decline than Canada because of the forests as opposed to Canada’s far northern tundra. When it comes to wildfires, drought can intensify them, but also forest management can maintain them. The native Americans used to set off fires in forests to keep them from harms way and to keep the forests from burning in huge fires. Management and brush clearance have really declined in recent decades along with pine beetle kill in other regions which needs to burn in order to kill off the beetles, but are more prolific because of warming temperatures. The system is more complicated than just growing trees.

PNW been hurtin too. We got two decent snowstorms but followed by metric fuck tons of rain. Like so much fucking rain that it washed out bridges and roads downstream. Our boxes we ordered from arena can't even get here yet.

That said we opening sat. Pushed a ton of snow today. Felt good.

Inline Blades is my back up... Roughly the same feeling and cheap. Also unaffected by climate change.
