This shit better never happen on NS

ya kinda repost there was a thread on this yesterday as soon as it happened but it got deleted because some people got carried away and started posting videos of people killing themselves on camera and it became a really ugly thread and totally inappropriate.
but back to the thread, this is really sad that people weren't able to help him, but who could blame the people watching I mean would we have been able to do better if someone posted something like that here? I mean after this I'm sure that we'll flip shit if someone did this but if there was no precedant would we have believed him?
 
if it ever happens on NS, i want their skis.

but really, it would suck. i wouldn't contribute in any way, positive or negative, i'd just ignore it and call the police.

yea but if you were watching this would you really think it was real? kids these days pull tons of this crazy stuff
 
after reading that article, I remember reading his suicide note where he kept going on about how he was a failure in his father's eyes, yet the father in this article seems to blame it all on the people on the website.
 
What I heard was that he just found a suicide note on the internet and copied it. It's so fucked up that no one did anything about it for so long though...
 
the sad part is that a vast majority of people who attempt suicide want to be saved. often times they leave the door open and leave clues. when no one saves them or comes to stop them they go through with it.

this kid probably thought by posting on the internet people would say not to do it. what kind of fucked up people egg someone on like this? come on people. we need to start helpin eachother out and watching eachothers backs
 
i totally called it so bigtime. the other thread was erased but i called it so early that i was in on the ground floor. i said that if this kid ended up on CNN i was there when it happened...

yeah didnt mean to be calloused about it.

but still. seemed from the general consensus of the bodybuilding forum that he was attention seeking. unfortunately, attention seeking and killing yourself are not exactly connected in western society. we expect people to fend for themselves to a certain extent. posting about it and broadcasting it in an artificially created world (i.e. myspace, an online forum, etc) is sort of asking for people not to take you seriously. not to be pessimistic, but do our online friends have a responsibility for our health? especially if we have been double crossing in the past...

either way, RIP to that kid. no one wants to see someone young die. unfortunately, in my job (healthcare, emergency, critical care, psych) people who want to end themselves do it no matter what interventions we provide.

RIP again.

 
i wasnt entirely sure if this would get a lot of media coverage because webcam suicides arent exactly rare
BUT
it was one of the top stories on CNN yesterday, i saw something about it on MSNBC, and just a second ago i noticed it's a top story on DrudgeReport...he doesnt put just ANYTHING in red letters, and he put this story's headlines in red letters
long story short, that website is going to get fucked somehow...at the very least theyre going to get sued into the ground and have to pay their legal bills with supplement powder
 
what the fuck is wrong with people... this behavior of egging people on to commit suicide happens a lot, and it's bizarre. weird

 
idk that's the internet for you. Kids think they can get away with talking like that online, and don't think its reality and having an impact, but on a kid bipolar like this, cops should have been immediately notified. But honestly, like I said, noone thinks the internet is reality
