This movie looks AMAZING

thats fucking awful, it would have been funny if they did it about terrorists and not a specific event. but thats just fucking low to try and make money off of a comedy about that shit. fuck those guys.

did you guys actually read anything about it? the movie is going to be brilliant. the entire point is to upset and offend people on a WAY larger scale than anything ever attempted before. I cant wait, this is going to be fucking off the chart.

Now is the time for the world to see “POSTAL” and here are my reasons why:

After the September 11th attacks, our world went through some dramatic changes. We have wars and terror in Afghanistan, Israel, Lebanon, Iraq and various states in Africa. The USA and Europe are scared to loose the leadership of the planet to China and India. Muslim fanatics and fundamentalists are gaining enough power to destroy our security and freedom.

The American and European people are heavily swayed by the mass media that is supporting the USA strategy of resolving these threats through war. We have quickly developed an innate self-censorship in order to survive this crazed and fragile state of existence. People are now afraid to speak their mind for fear of repercussions. If Bin Laden is a crazed fanatic, mass murderer, are we to assume that George Bush is a wonderful leader? If Moslems are perceived as terrorists, then are all Christians and Jews doing the right thing?

The world is in need of a film that is tougher in it's humorous mockery of the globe than "SOUTH PARK". The audience is ready to approach this type of satire with live actors rather than cartoons. "POSTAL" will not accept any form of censorship.

Our present political situation is intolerable. We have deranged religious fanatics on one hand and lobbyists from the oil and weapon industries on the other hand. Both sides are actively working at destroying the planet. This world is slowly dying due to global warming and pollution caused by man’s corporate greed and stupidity. If intelligent people do not stop this madness, then our grandchildren will not experience life.

"POSTAL" will insult all cultures, religions, political groups and leaders. No one will be spared. The film is intended to provoke thought, laughter and open debate. Our world is out of balance and "POSTAL" will reflect just how fucked up we are.

I see myself as a member of the world community. I have no religious affiliation. Religion has often been a catalyst for the many crimes and wars throughout history. Religion allows people the opportunity to blame their actions on a higher source. We live in a world that is sensitive to people's religious beliefs. How ironic that non-religious groups fail to receive the same level of sensitivity from the establishment.

I agree with Salman Rushdie who said a few months ago in an interview something to the affect that we don't want to hurt your feelings because you are religious.… who thinks about the daily insults non-religious people are getting? How can the President of the United States think, that Adam and Eve were created by God, but Darwin is bullshit? How can they teach this in certain American states? This is an insult to everyone with an IQ over 100!

Apart from the firemen and rescuers of 911, how about the victims of the September 11th attacks that are now being labelled as heroes? I say that they were not heroes at all. They died in a terrorist attack. They were normal people and did nothing heroic but dying an unfortunate death.

Since September 11th, more than ONE MILLION AFRICANS, JEWS and ARABS have died in terrorist's attacks, civil wars and wars. Their lives and deaths were not featured by the mass media. Does this mean that their lives had less value than the life of a NY stockbroker dying in the World Trade Centre?

It's time to wake up!

May "POSTAL" shock, stir, offend and entertain you!

Uwe Boll

oh i thought it was just making fun of september 11th the whole time, i only watched the trailer. i guess ill probably see it but thats still lame that they are making fun of that.

I don't care what their point is, that clip is just tasteless humour. is isn't even that funny, and it is making fun of a very serious subject. I agree that our government situation is intolerable a lot of the time, but you don't do shit like that. That is going to piss a lot of people off, and it should.

anyone finding this even the least bit funny should be ashamed of themselves. this a terrible fucking idea, i can't believe anyone lacks the common sense to not make this film at all, or to at least wait longer after the event actually occurred. we're still feeling the reverberations from that, that's how recent it is. i can't believe this, that made me sick to my stomach. fucking disgusting.

hmm, i guess it will be neat to see them actually pull off the kind of though provoking/shocking satire that they tried to describe in that little essay there ^

but i didnt see that in the trailer i watched...

ill go see it...

I have no reason to be ashamed. I'm not a communist, like you apparently. Just because you have an issue with someone making a movie with this content, doesn't mean you need to whine about said movie. This is America, love it or deal with it, people can do most anything they want. That being said, people can find funny what they want. Don't think you're all high and mighty because you're too sensitive for this day and age. This world is a cold one, better learn to toughen up.

you're right, this is america, and i have the right to say that i think this movie has no right to exist. i'm not the one who's too sensitive, you're the one who's too callous to realize you're laughing at the tragic demise of thousands of people. and apparently because i don't find this funny, that means i believe in a classless society. someone obviously does not know the definition of 'communism'.

The one true fact in your paragraph there is that I am callous. It makes it easier to live in this fucked up world. Even though you and a few others might disagree with this movie being made, it's not going to do anything to change that fact.

there are many true facts in my paragraph. for instance: you're laughing at the death of thousands of people, i have the right to say that i don't believe this movie exists, and i know the correct definition of communism while you don't. so actually, my entire paragraph was 100% fact.

No matter the race, religion, or the amount of lives lost, human life

should be respected. Thousands of people dying is not a joke.

I'm the kind of person that makes jokes out of everything, even the most volatile politticaly incorrect stuff and I think this might have been taking it slightly too far. I laughed though.

I feel bad for the people who lost somebody and now they have to read about this trash.

Ok, I can see how you can be for the movie, or against it, but saying it's "too soon" doesn't really make any sense. If your arguement is that it is tasteless to make a joke about something that killed many people, how is allowing "more time" going to make those peoples' deaths any better? So you're saying a human life has worth? It's only good for what? 10 years? 20 years? After that does it lose it's value?

I personally don't care one way or the other about the movie. People make comedy war movies all the time, and millions of people die in our wars. How is that different? The only reason I think it might be a bad idea, is that since Americans are stupid, the people who do care might try to hurt the actors or people involved for doing such a "terrible" thing.

I rescind my previous comment of "Too soon". After reading snwbrdmilfs post Im going to have to agree. We are so sensatized to incidences such as these regarding our own nation that most of us have jumped up to condemn this. After thinking about it I think this movie is beneficial. it takes a German filmmaker with outside funding to make a hollywood style movie to show us in North America that the rest of the world really doesnt care about how we suffered on 9/11 anymore. Let me put this in perspective. Go to youtube, search "Iraq" or "Insurgency", watch some videos and read the comments, most of them will be redneck hicks cheering on the soldiers in the videos blowing up some building, or else jeering some insurgency video of a tank being blown up; comments such as lets nuke all them iraquis or, God bless America are not uncommon. How about all the Iraqi civilians we've killed since 9/11? Far more have died than in the World Trade Centre, are their lives more or less valuable then American ones? Who the fuck are we to judge? POINT IS that media is so censored here that very rarely do we hear foriegn perspective on American issues. Satire is one of the critic's best tools. Thank god for the film industry, and I'm excited to see what kind of reaction this one gets.

bottom line is, this movie is going to be worth seeing. just sack up and deal with the content, maybe it can teach you something

Of course this movie is insensitive and politically incorrect, those are the reasons why its going to be hilarious.

This is no worse than any South Park of Family Guy cartoon to poke fun at the terrorist situation and ive never heard anyone discuss how wrong those shows are. i think it was somewhat funny.

perfect idea. You can sit here and make fun of thousands of people dieing around the world but when it hits close to home your ass hole puckers and you become the moral voice of a nation. Perfect idea I hope it pisses a lot of people off.

sorry but ashley didn't write that. it was copied from the site

i found the trailer quite funny. because i'm always arguing with people about how many virgins they get. the last part was a little bit of a killer. its only been 6 years and the killing is still a sore spot. it is needed in the movie but maybe not in the trailer. but i wholeheartedly support this movie. the world is so damn screwed up these days maybe humor is the only way of showing us we are acting like uncivilized heathens for immediatly fearing every dark skinned person wearing a turban these days, or saying that its ok to have free speak for some but not others. i think we need this film to show a certain group in america that we don't support the hatred of entire countries just because you tell us they are evil. and that not everyone supports the war, so one with more political bullshit

I think that when something bad happens its natural for humans to first be upset and then later on get over it and eventually even laugh about it. Jokes can be made while people are still respected.

I'm looking foward to see the movie.

And the preview was hilarious.

a spoof of a day when hundreds of innocent americans died...men women and children....this is rediculous

hahah...gotta admit the comedy is funny in it

"how long will 10 virgins last? a month maybe? they wont stay virgins forever"

...but the United States is not the rest of the world. And the only place in the world where it's being released (other than festivals) is the US. It's hard to understand suffering that you're distanced from, but a lot of people in the US still consider 9/11 a very sensitive subject. It would be inappropriate if an American director made a Russian comedy about the terrorists involved in the 2004 Beslan school hostage crisis. I might not care too much about the Beslan incident anymore, but I bet the hundreds of parents whose children were killed in the incident are still sensitive about it.

However, it appears that the trailer is marketing the movie as a shock comedy, which I understand is not the case with the actual film. I have no problems with Uwe Boll making the movie, regardless of what it is about (he has every right to make the film), but I do think it's necessary (or at least nice) for people to at least try to understand sensitive subjects no matter how distanced they are from them.

im disgraced at myself for watching that whole thing. it doesnt matter how long ago 9/11 was, that doesnt justify a parody of it.

People make fun of Hitler all the time. As well as the holocaust. No real uproar over that.

"How do you fit a hundred jews in a car?"

In the ashtray!

Like ryno said, the comedy was good. The precidense of the whole thing was extremly shaky, but i guess thats what they are going for. whatever, if you dont like it, dont go see it.

If they took the plane out from hitting the building it would have been more funny, that part kind of ruined it.

I agree with you on that one. Up till that it was funny. But I can see where they were going with it...i mean...how else would you end that scene?

I'm pretty sure that's all there was to it. I can't see them stretching the bit any longer. The window washer part was lame, but otherwise it was funny.

I hope everyone up in arms about this is equally willing to protest every war comedy movie ever made. There have been more than a few made about WWII... a lot more than three thousand people died in that one. How about Team America? Hell, even the opening of Team America; how many people die of AIDS every year?
