Music is subjective. You may not like Kanye (which is fine) but critically he has been extremely successful and will probably be remembered as one of the most influential musicians of the 21st century.

What of his music have you listened to? Or are you the type of person that says that rap music is the bane of music and that queen and metallica are LITERALLY the best music ever created? If you listened to rap at all, you would see that college dropout and late registration are top 10 albums in rap, and probably top 10 in music from the 2000's. You can dislike him all you want, but don't call him trash and insult other peoples taste in music.

I find it rather amusing how many jimmies can be rustled by someone you've never met and who has really done nothing all that bad. I can see if you hated someone such as Hitler cause that guy was a very bad person. I feel like a lot of people are much more bothered by Kanye's silly antics than they are by murderers and other members of our society who legitimately have done terrible things. It kinda boggles my mind that so many people in our current culture allow themselves to be effected by something so insignificant as what some celebrity they've never met did at an award show they've never been to. To allow yourself to be impacted in that manner to the point of "hating" someone like Kanye just makes it seem like the joke's on you. The more y'all hate on Kanye (or any other celeb), the more he wins and the less important your own life seems. Just my two cents, and I do realize that it's all for the point of "entertainment", but a lot of people take this shit far too seriously.

i agree if i didnt like rap my statements would be ignorant but i have listen to hip hop for 20 years and love it but not him. College Dropout and late registration were good albums but the rest of his shit is terrible. He says nothing good and his beats are shit now.

He was a good producer for Jay-Z which is when he started his career. Thats where his career shouldve stayed. Telling me he is GOAT? you obviously dont know about rap. Biggie, Pac, Jay-Z, Nas, Dre, Jadakiss, Big L, Em....those are some i wouldnt laugh if someone said GOAT. Kanye is no where near any of them and the fact that hes the most ignorant person on the planet makes it worse.

Ever hear a real genius say he was one? nope

People like John Lennon are humble and this piece of shit thinks hes special? lol

Exactly. I enjoy Kanye's music a lot, and his "antics" he does outside of the studio amuse me instead of antagonize me. he's being himself, while "himself" may be an arrogant egotistical guy, thats who he is, and I appreciate him not putting on a fake persona.

No way - you'd just cut in front of Kanye, grab Kim by the waist, start giving her ski lessons and go all -

"Yo Kanye... I'm really happy for you learning to ski, and I'm going to let you finish... BUT -

I'm one of the best skiers on this mountain and ima need to make sure yo lady gets a lesson from a real cracker."

Or something like that.

I feel like a great test of someone's ability to appreciate the quality of music is to ask them what they think of Kanye. You get two responses: "Kanye is such an asshole, he sucks, all his music sucks" or "Kanye is a very talented musician". Some people have the ability to separate the quality of music from external factors and others are just stuck trolling themselves. I mean Lou Reed wrote an amazing review on Yeezus full of praise. Lou fucking REED!! I don't care how "core" of a music listener you are, if Lou says it's good, it must fucking be good god dammit. It's funny because I find this attitude of rejecting music based on genre and image and personalities or whatever train of thought leads people to believe that their tastes are "above" any type of music or artist is prevalent more so in those that are very "into music" but limit themselves to one genre (Cough phish fans, cough). Don't get me wrong, I fucking love phish more than anything but a lot of my phish friends won't listen to any sort of hip hop. I understand that not every genre/artist is gonna be a good fit for all the listeners, but I feel bad for those who refuse to give an artist/genre a shot on the basis of some preconcieved notion that a given artist/genre is "not for me". I mean that goes against everything music is all about. In it's elementary basis, music is about fucking sounds, noises, not image or personality or any of that other shit. You start with noises and end up with an emotional reaction. Not the other way around.

I want to add that most my friends who listen to hip hop will refuse to listen to phish on the same sort of basis. It's a two way street and I didn't mean to throw phish fans under the bus - just an example I had in mind.

First, this is just a terrible fucking argument.

Second, there are plenty examples of geniuses who call themselves geniuses. The hell are you talking about?

Same goes for Kim, she is being herself and it's the public's fault that she is famous for being hot and having a sextape. Everyone is so egotistical that we have let her represent the image of women's sexuality and now women can become famous for having a big ass and tits. If our expectations weren't so incredibly high then people like her would have to actually work for the kind of fame she has obtained.

THEY'RE SOMEWHERE AROUND PC!! 95% SURE DEER VALLEY. Some kid from my school posted on fb he was sitting next to them at a restaurant in deer valley. Someone in that area give em a newschoolers holler, whatever that may be.

I love the hate on Kanye because his music "sucks." Clearly you have no taste in rap, not only is kanye a rapper but he is one of the best hip hop producers of all time, an d a fashion mogul. Im sure there are songs out there you had no idea kanye produced, many of which are on Jay Z albums. College Dropout is one of the greatest breakout albums of all time.

^you and capurnicus should stop kidding yourselves. the only people here getting butthurt are the kanye supporters.

we're just taking the piss and having a laugh at the expense of these bizarre creature, the kimye ski demons

y'all know his antics are purely for publicity right? so much for not having a fake persona lol. you fanboys are so clueless lol

I love reading the people who don't listen to rap chime in on Kanye, it's hilarious how little they know but how adamant about hating him they are. He's probably the most influential rapper in todays game and still killing it, sure he's nuts and has an awful public image but that doesn't change his music.

He also produced amazing tracks for himself, Alicia Keys, Cam'ron, The Game, John Legend, Lil Wayne, Twista, Dilated Peoples, Talib Kweli and a ton more i don't feel like looking up. Also All the rappers you posted above are excellent, but fell off hard in terms of quality other than Pac, Biggie and Big L because they died, Jadakiss never made a decent album anyway so he shouldn't be included in your list. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is the GOAT rap album in my opinion, and I wouldn't consider myself a Kanye stan, the hate on him is just ridiculous.

Come on man. There is a little thing called preference and opinion in this world, and just because someone doesn't like Kanye doesn't mean they don't know how to "appreciate the quality music." I don't like Kanye, to be fair I just don't like rap in general, but I certainly appreciate a large number of other musicians and genres.

I've listened through the discography of 6/8 people you've listed (I havent gotten to Jadakiss or all the way through Jay yet). In my opinion if you take out dre Kanye is of course nowhere near the lyrical genius that the people you mentioned are, (Although he does have some awesome punchlines at times). However you are definitely in the minority opinion of hiphop fans when you say that college dropout and late registration were "good albums but the rest of his shit is terrible." Some people consider My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy the best album in recent years (Not me, I'm partial to G.O.O.D. Kid Maad City.)You seem to have the opinion that older-school rap is the end all be all of the genre. Yes opinions are your own and I can't change them, but at some point you do need to realize that the large majority of hip hop fans disagree with you completely.

His music now is a lot different than it was 10 years ago, but I wouldn't say its shit. He's come out with some very polarizing stuff, especially the whole yeezus album, but you can't deny that songs like black skinhead and blood on the leaves have amazing production.

I'm not saying kanye is the GOAT, but in terms of influence on the genre, I would say that hes getting close to some of the names you mentioned. If he stays alive and continues coming out with good music, in a 40 years I guarantee that he will be hailed as one of the all time greats.

Also, missing from your list of people that I "don't know about that are better than kanye" is Andre 3k and Lil Wayne.

But there's a difference between not liking something, and thinking it's objectively bad, no? You can personally not like Kanye's music, but still appreciate that it is good in an objective sense.

The whole notion of "Kanye is super talented and yes he's an obnoxious person but he's got talent so some respect should be accorded. So if you hate him for his antics you're dumb because you don't know his talent and talent's what's important."

Fuck you. Character is also important, and that dumbass hasn't got one iota of good character.

I get it, Kanye's talented, he's put out and produced some great stuff. I won't argue with that, but:

Whoop-dee-fuckin-doo

There's a bazillion other hip hop artists of equal or greater talent I would rather listen to every time.

I still think he's a piece of trash. A gigantic piece of trash. He's a classless, arrogant, narcissistic loudmouth. I don't need to accord him respect for talent when he's got enough POS qualities to override any amazing track/album.

I hope I'm not bound2 get some h8.
