Lawsuit over Jay Peak condo burns

JAY, Vt. -

A New York man is suing Jay Peak resort after his 11-month-old son was badly burned inside a condo near the ski area.

Steve Kleiman says his son grabbed the glass front of a gas fireplace during a stay in 2006.

The toddler's hands allegedly fused to the glass. He was rushed to the hospital. The condo was owned by a family in Quebec but managed by Jay Peak.

According to the Caledonia County Record, the family is now suing the resort, alleging that officials did not warn them about the dangers of the fireplace.

They say the boy is permanently disfigured.

Wegmans in my town is getting sued because some old dude pushing his wife in a wheel chair hit some uneven pavement(they're in the middle of repaving) and dumped her on her face.
 
I'm going to drive my fucking car off a bridge. If the fall somehow doesn't kill me I'm going to sue the car manufacture because my car didn't automatically sprout wings and fly away into the sunset.

Dont forget you can sue the city for making a bridge that let did not say the dangers of driving off of it instead of on it... I think we have a legitimate case here..
 
lametastic. This dumb bitch in my grade, back in 8th grade I believe, was jumping off the rafters in the gymnasium (5ft off the ground at the most). And her ring got stuck on something and tore her finger and it had to get amputated. The bitch sued the school or the town I forgot, for 1 million fucking dollars and they won. I think the man has a strong case, I mean obviously they should have a Caution sign next to the fireplace, or a "Warning, hot surface". It's not like the kid was crawling around inside the fireplace and got burned.
 
really? i thought it was pretty common knowledge that flames=hot.. babys shouldnt be near flames either. i hope that family fucking burns.
 
I'm going to sue them because my buddy got drunk and pissed himself while sleeping and ruined it. Not like it was even purchased new but it's still clearly their responsibility.
 
Appears you are also why we can't have nice things, or if we can have them, they must be plastered in warning messages aimed at the complete dolts out there.
 
Holy shit, if I was the judge I would just ask the parents if they ever heard of common sense. Do you really need a big fat sign with 28 font words saying DO NOT TOUCH GLASS FIRE IS HOT
 
I fucking hate civil cases in America. At least ones like these. That people could be so fucking dumb and have no sense of self accountability makes me want to move to Canada or Sweden or France or something.
 
That is why I despise people who are stupid, its your kids goddamn fault for being a fucking tard and placing his hands on glass in front of fire.
 
The condo should have had a sign up just to avoid getting sued. Not saying I support the plaintiffs, because they sound completely ridiculous, but they should have just had a sign saying 'glass is hot when fireplace in use' or something...not that hard.
