Mt Hood is mostly forest service land so people can just post up in the woods for free if they want, no registration required.

Gonna put emphasis on this, hella wooks come out and nest in the Oregon woods. Buddies of mine have had their cars broken into at trillium and had all their shit stolen, and this was happening in August and September. Not exactly the time when skiers are coming out to shred on a $120 may pass. I think the skiers take a lot of the blame because so many come to timberline at that point, but most shredders out there are very respectful of the volcano and are just stoked to be there. Rumor has it there's gonna be a massive rainbow gathering in Oregon this year (location undisclosed of course) so prepare for it to get reaaaaaaal scummy.

2.) While its 100% unacceptable that this isn't cleaned up at any point in the year, this was posted 9 days ago and the spring pass has been over for a month. Don't know if the shots were taking in the spring and just posted now or not, but it is definitely an increased problem in the spring and lasts all summer.

3.) Calling out one or two crews for the idiocy of likely well over 200 different people (probably more) from April-May, and who knows how many through August is ludicrous. A lot of those guys all work on the hill all summer and haven't been woods-ing it since the camps started up. They get rowdy but they're not trying to wreck one of their favorite places in the world.

4.) Anyone trashing their camp and leaving it doesn't deserve a spring pass, end of story. Bring extra trash bags and call people out on it.

First off. I did not take the pictures. Second. What does ignoring the obvious and stated problem of the T-line spring pass help? Ignoring it, and not pointing it out to the demographic that is highlighted as the problem is fucking idiotic.

I stopped buying T-line spring pass a few years ago because riding the lift with stanky gypsies with a serious lack of basic hygiene skills got kind of old.

But if spring sales stop, it hurts to gypsies, and hurts the locals who enjoy the extended season. I gurantee you it will not hurt T-line as they will probably just raise their regular season pass to compensate. Thus hurting locals even more.

Good for you to say and do something positive. I'm a skier and I pack out my own TP and all my trash. Camped out for the Bachelor summer ski and I feel confident that things were as nice or nicer when I left then when I made camp. Most people are good people.

This thread brings the issue of littering to the attention of skiers that may travel to Mt Hood in the spring. If Timberline is actually considering discontinuing the spring pass because of the trouble it causes every spring, it is important that skiers are aware of the consequences so we can work to reduce the amount of trash that is left behind in the future. Calling people fucking idiots for making a good thread is definitely not helping the issue.
