Top of thee hour to you Nser's,

First off, just like to state how great of a site this has become; connecting skiers around the globe in one big community to help one another out and show/discuss the gnar things everyone is getting up to, we all work off of each other and get inspired by one another.

I just had to make a point of sharing this with you and call out a member on this site for the right reasons.

I have be recently looking to pick up a new set of skis to further enjoy this amazing sport as I am going to school. I was backpacking South Americas last winter so I didn't even ski unfortunately. Came back this year and my skis are just dam small and it was time for a change and a much bigger ski..

--> look for this man on site, hes the reason!

I started chatting and negotiating with Greg, trying to get a stellar deal like the kind of thing you come to look for on NS that you cant find anywhere else. That I did find, listen to this.

I live in Ottawa, Canada, my main man Greg_o, lives in Brampton, which is about 4.5-6hrs away of a drive. I buckled up and started making the trip towards his location. After I reached him and acquired my new babies, I was going to continue driving towards Blue MountaIn, Collingwood.

He had great communication throughout are chatting and I was giving him my ETA as I was getting closer to arriving. Knowing I was heading to Collingwood, he met me 25min away from his house to better accommodate me, just off the 410 highway.

Literally 6 exits from our destination, my car broke down for the first time ever while driving..Transmission down..middle of the lane..

I let Greg know that the worst thing has happen, he is not shook..i caused a accident on the highway(no one hurt) and then finally got a tow from a truck that brought me to our meeting point. Checked out the skis, in exceptional like he told me and put a big smile on my lost, now carless self.

After chatting with him, purchasing the skis and shooting the shit..it becomes that time where be part..no

GREG OFFERED TO DRIVE ME TO COLLINGWOOD TO GET TO MY FRIENDS BASE SO I COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO AWAY FROM HOME! GREG DROVE ME 120KM ONE WAY, NO JOKE..

Through out the drive when we got to know each other, I just couldn't understand how someone could do something like he did to a complete stranger. I am so grateful what he did for me when I was stranded and realized what kind of people are on this site. We are a skiing community with much love.

THEN WHEN WE REACHED MY DESTINATION AND I THROUGH HIM MORE CREAM FOR GAS AND DOING THE UNTHINKABLE, HE TRIED TO GIVE ME HALF OF IT BACK!!!!

Just wanted to share this with NS, look out for Greg, feed him karma, give him free things I don't care! he deserves so much and is one of the kindest souls I have met.

Thanks greg and I hope this story inspires..

Awe man like if he wouldn't of done that i would have been so screwed, my needle in a haystack

Hey Tyler, buddy, don't mention it.

Admittedly I had no idea what I was getting into but I had a pretty good sense of who you where from our dialog about the skis FS. You exceeded my expectations.

You're an absolute class act and I'm lucky to now call you a friend.

The drive went by so quick, you had some great stories of your adventures as we talked it was apparent we had very much in common, everything from music to cats to skiing (duh!) to cheap phones with no data plans lol.

This all subtlety crescendo-ed entering your friends town with the beautifully fresh snowy streets and seeing you two reunited.

Not to mention the care package was spot on - respect for that.

I hope you had a great night and was able to de - stress a bit. You went through quite an ordeal that day.

But getting back to the jist of this - big up Newschoolers and all it's members - there are truly amazing people here.

Not gonna lie.... I'm getting pretty misty-eyed up in here.

Way to go boys, this is the kind of vibe we need to share as skiers. This should be our legacy.

This sort of stuff is what I love about NS, such a great community and so many cool people.

see what i mean, this mans the rarest of gems

Cool story op.

ive like wired some of my colorado friends money at times when they are like dead broke and freezing in their car bc no gas and no place to go in an may blizzard in summit county.

helping people is always fun.

ppl think im this fucking monster but honestly if you allow your politics to be influenced by the idea people should not have to apologize for being born luckier than others, either through trust funds, brainpower, athleticism or good genes, then you will probably get along with me very well.
