yeah i think its a little juvenile. so they dont allow boarders, who cares? plenty of other mountains, nearby too. as a million other people have said, its a ploy to inject some rebelliousness back into a sport which is pretty mainstream now--every tool and their kid sister snowboards these days.
I don't dislike snowboarders, I dislike douchebags. but a lot of snowboarders are douchebags because the sport attracts a lot of idiots. skiing at snowshoe, a resort in west virginia where no one has heard of twins before, I experienced the worst examples of snowboarders.
me and some friends were repeatedly hitting this flat-down mailbox which was hella hard to land, and eating shit a lot. these snowboarders were literally just sitting on ass, like 20 of em. we lapped them about a million times. and they were talking mad shit, laughing at us when we fell, etc. i told em to get off their asses and try something, but no dice.
also my friend almost got in a fight with this 25 year old prick who got all pissed because he had to bail trying to 50/50 a battleship cause we were supposedly standing in the landing, even though we were well out of his way. he was a major guido
