I like in wisconsin and fuck all this weather, califonia get over 500 feet of snow, fucking pisses me off, I only got to ski until mid febuary.

I feel ya! I live in NH and it was looking like we would have a decent winter and then It turned to 60 degrees for a week and a half and rained. Now we have literally no snow and it going back down to freezing this coming week. I simply dont understand east coast weather!

I mean I don't disagree with you that midwest/east has been horrible this year...

However those poor bastards out in Cali deserve a good year. Its been awful out there for like 3 years running.

IMO this isn't as bad as last season (at least here at Springs). Last season we opened on December 23rd and we struggled to stay open for about 2 weeks. The skiing was awful but I really didn't mind because I stoked to at least be open. The weather didn't fluctuate as much as this season, but it was still pretty spotty. We closed somewhat earlier than normal too.

This season we opened on November 25th. Almost a month earlier than last year. I'd rather end early than start late. Springs is determined to stay open till April, but Im thinking they're gonna call it in 2-3 weeks.

Did you really need a thread asking if the season was over and a thread saying it was a disappointing season?

Midwest kids always think it's been a horrible year. This year has been dope, especially in Wisco and Minnesota. Of course it's going to suck ass every year in Indiana and Ohio because they aren't supposed to get more than 10-12 inches in an average year anyways.

Last year was average to barely above average, but the seasons before that were terrible. 13/14 and 14/15 were just awful by Sierra standards. It is nice to see another epic year, I just hope we can go back to having average years after this instead of terrible ones. 10/11 was epic, then we entered a drought. I hope the same thing doesn't happen again. An average year at Squaw or Mammoth is pretty great. After what we have had since 10/11 I appreciate average more than I used to. Actually, that's not true. I have always appreciated average in the Sierra, growing up back east will do that.

I mean there's a conversation in here about climate change that skiers really need to start having.

Sure theres bad seasons and good... but what about when we get to the point that seasons are either shitty or non-existent?

Not really looking forwards to that point in time... and I wonder many days if it's already here.

I don't mean to sound like a jackass, cus I get what you mean, but any season you get to ski is a good season. And I hate to do that "it could be worse" thing but at least you got to go a bit instead of having no snow on the ground at all.

The weather might not be gorgeous, you might not be up to your tits in powder but it's better than not skiing at all. Even if it's only until mid February.

Not sure where you have been the season is still going its not over yet. Alpine is reopening so is wilmot. everyone else is still open.

Right there with you. I want to be skiing 30 years from now. How much snow there will be then is something that scares me.

Global. Warming. Don't know how many "average years" we have left...

'Climate change' and 'global warming' are two different things. Global warming is strictly talking about higher temperatures, while climate change is any changes in climate.

This kid took a science class once

Oh boy, woke up to 5-6 inches at my house in ohio. Some places near me got over 8. Lake effect is the bomb.

And it just melted today! The snow is here one day and gone the next

Minnesota has gotten rain 5-6 times this season. My home hill was from a pretty shitty this year for some reason. To a park with a few boxes inches off the ground and a jump.

I feel you man. I got a job at the local hill here in Michigan, and we keep closing due to warm weather. not only do I not get to ski, I don't get paid either! it sucks.

Wisconsin, IL and MN are notorious for pulling skiers heart strings. And at this point in the season I'm pretty damn happy. Central WI is looking at sub 30 temps the next few days even with some snow mixed in. The only thing that I'm upset about is that my parents did me the disservice of raising me in the midwest.

Maybe, I dunno... I might just be sad about what is happening right now.

Pray for sun at Mt Bachelor! Only had three and a half days without frickin' snow all season so far!

All I want is a string of sunny days!

So it kinda sucks here too!

You'll get yours in Spring... or May.

I'd be careful complaining about too much snow to us on the east coast over here.... might lead some people into depression. ;)

It's a bummer as I go back to w**k mid April. Poured rain today.
