This IS something newschoolers NEEDS too upgrade.

Okay, so now that I'm uploading pictures I'm starting to nice, you can only upload one picture at a time.

So what I think NEEDS too be done, (i'm deffenetly not the only one) is that the uploader should be upgraded to the java ones like Facebook, Pinkbike, Flickr and so on. Isn't this site supposed to be where we can share pictures and videos and talk about skiing? Well i don;t want to spend hours uploading pictures one by one. I want to select them all and upload them together. And again I'm 100% that I'm not the only one who shares this pain. I hope I have brought a valid and solid point across so that I can share with the skiing community the pictures I took from Jib Academy or other competitions.
 
maybe they have kept it the same so that people dont just select all their photos from a trip and actually take some time to pick and choose decent photos.
i also think that this feature would be really helpful when uploading photos when you want to b/s/t
 
no until 90% of the idiots who post pictures figure out what a fucking private gallery is. i dont want to look through 40 pictures of stupid shit your selling to find 2 decent pictures. this i why i never even check the picture page anymoore
 
agreed. I dont get whats so hard about clicking private.

I have been saying this for a while, when you upload a media content, the DEFAULT setting should be PRIVATE. that way the idiots who can't comprehend the concept will be like "where did my picture go?" they will find it, and learn if the picture was worth being public they can re upload it - and will know for the future.

This will take 2 seconds to change guys, can you PLEASE do it? Ill start looking at pictures again if this gets done.

 
Totally agree. Or when someone uploads a picture and the title is "for thread" or "for cult" or something like that I just want to reach through the internet and hit them in the face.
 
Am I the only 1 that just loves seeing a pic of some random object or layed out ski gear when I click on "Rail" pics??

but seriously, i think the OP's idea is great, but everything should be uploaded privately. then if possible be able to change the picture to public in our profiles afterwards. i know it may be tough to program, but thats the only way i could see it working.
 
There is nothing that I hate more than the picture section right now because of for sale pictures
 
Maybe there should be an added "For Sale" section? That could cut down on having to filter through the main section.
 
OR, there could also be a check box that you have to click, saying something like "I have carefully given a full thought process as to whether or not the photo I am uploading should be seen by all of NS, or if I should just keep it to myself. Obviously if it is for a cult/thread, or in other words, meaningless, I should keep it private. But if its something appropriate and to the nature of skiing, I will categorize correctly and keep it public for everyone to see the gnarliness" before you can actually upload.

The only problem with that though is most of the time kids just click that they've agreed to everything and dont care
 
and people randomly uploading photos other people own. I don't know how many times I've seen the same picture of tom wallisch uploaded by different people

defaulting to private would be good I think. you can easily edit the settings to change to public. or maybe just change some code so moderaters can set the default upload location to private for repeat offenders. that way people who upload legit photos don't have the inconvenience of having to change their photos back to public.

I also think the uploader as it stands is fine. I don't want to see 44 pictures of you posing beside pine trees. pick 3 or 4 photos that sum your day up.
 
I don't see why it has taken three years for the default to be set to private. That seems like a no brainer. Yet the front page gets a new layout every two months
 
i use imageshack for cults/threads. i dont want to take up space on the NS server. and its stupid easy on image shack and i dont have to stop trolling to upload a pic, its great.
