i feel like the video itself was really amature. what do you think eheath

how does this work? how does the car know where to go when the road splits? does it use internet to guide itself? how does it know not to park in a reserved spot? shiettt

them rims tho

of course the youtube comments are full of skepticism. god i wish they'd just get rid of the comment feature.

I'm pretty damn skeptical myself. Does it account for idiots in parking lots? What if it mistakes an open spot? There are so many things about this I would not trust.

i grew up being told that in the future we would be riding around in flying cars. i've grown up and there are no flying cars, only cars that can drive and park themselves. they do not live up to my expectation of the future at all.

yeah, too many open ends, like mistaking any gap for an open spot, reserved parking, what if a little kids standing in the spot the car cams dont see? does it always do this at 2 mph? people might get pissed... what if it runs out of gas? what if there is no parking does it just drive in circles? what happens if it wrecks whos liable?

...walking through the parking garage.. see an audi that is driving without anyone in it?? lolwut? Let me break that window open climb and and steal it.

It would be incredibly easy for the car to pick a safe, viable spot. All you need are color sensors and if you have two white lines with no yellow or white or orange inside of it, then it will work. And just like facial recognition you can easily have handicap sign recognition on the side of the car. From there any motion sensors will tell if there is a child standing in the spot, and the reaction time of the car can be made to be much better than that of a human. Obviously it wouldnt run out of gas. For a car that smart that is easy to make sure there is enough gas in the car to drive around a parking lot. As for who's liable, obviously the person who owns the car. All this stuff is going to cost a lot, but it can definitely be made to work without any external hardware for a reasonable cost.
