I remember being a young skater surfer kid when i moved to tahoe in 2001

I skied like that until I learned how to ski properly

The "new wave"" style was called surf or skate style from around 2001-2009

kinda funny how they brought it back with another name

Also what you're forgetting is that Magnus is an insane skier outside of his "trendy swerve clips", go back and watch his part from Less, go check out ON3P 3, he's actually insane. I'll admit his trick selection is super questionable sometimes but you can't deny he's an fucked athlete who just has fun sometimes.

Feel free to have your own opinion though, style is subjective...

dude stop trying to act like you're fostering some crazy good ground breaking discussion here. People have been hating on the Bunch/New Wave ever since it began. This thread has changed nobody's opinion about magnus.

Here's a quick breakdown of criticisms of the New Wave:

1) "All of those tricks are easy, I could do them! These guys aren't even good skiers!"

2) "They wave their arms around too much and their style is forced."

3) "Wearing a track suit from the thrift store looks lame."

4) "ITS GAY" or in this case "ITS RETARDED"

If you have a criticism of the new wave that isn't one of those four things, I'm glad to hear it and discuss it.

This may not be the call out that skierman wants, but it is the call out that skierman deserves.
 
But we've seen Magnus throw down heavy shit, and we've seen him do this, and the fact that he can huck dubs and still prefers hitting side hits and slashing around says something about what skiings actually about. Just do what you think is fun and dont give a fuck if people think its "retarted"
