totally agree that 7 should have won

the 10's grab was held for like 180 and it was soo ugly
 
I like Espens skiing better in general, and this was no exception... but I'm fairly sure Espen fell after landing, so that probably affected his score.
 
he didn't fell, he crashed in the tiger i think, and that shoudldnt count since he had control all the way down, if they would'nt have a big statue after the landing he would'nt have fell. and that ugly sw 10's should lead life ban from the comp!

He rotated 360 degrees more. They will give him the victory. And if you call that ugly, I would like to see your switch 10s
 
ya that 7 was nice but the point is that its over, hatveit won, and nothing anybody says here is going to change that.
 
you guys are still failing ot see the point about judging style over difficulty. I am not saying I enjoy the 10 more than the 7, but looking at it objectively, everyone is going to give a 10 better points than a 7. Honestly, shut up about it already unless you are good enough to get into judging and change it
 
shots from the same angle would make this easier to tell if it was bad judging or not. the ten was a little ugly but def hard enough to earn those extra points for less style, its not like it was pencil steeze or anything
 
I think the people on this site should offer their critisism whenever they want. This site is the biggest voice of newschool skiing and these opinions matter.

That said, i agree with the original post, that cork 7 was way more enjoyable to watch, the style, the grab, the cork, way more technically difficult then a hucked cork 10. I don't know where the judges score their points...maybe that's the problem.
 
well put it this way, say I do a nasty tanner-style corked 3, and someone does a clean 7 with a grab...who's gonna get scored higher? obviously the 7. If you do a 7, and i drop in behind you and do the cork 3, you're going to think you are better.
 
both were sick bu i agree with triple_strum, anyone will give more points for a 10. and btw its judging not jugding
 
hey, 1 footers are sick sometimes^ and as for that comp, it was a joke. espen clearly shoulda won, just look at his style alone...fuck hatveit, espen owned that comp
 
If a skier hucks a double backflip with really fast spinning, that would be sick. But if a skier does a really slow backflip with a tweaked out ironcross with more air, then I would say the latter was harder to execute, more pleasant to watch, and should be scored hire than the first one.
 
nah, jacob westers sw 10 nosemute was pretty good! espen should been 2, and pk 3!

And another thing, when i think about it we can't diss the judges for being bad judges, they just judge after what we think have been sick for so many years, so maybe threads like this will make them realize we want to take skiing one step further?

how aabout you guys stop bitching and start getting into thease comps and then throw your super cool 7's and what not just fucking stop bitching your not going to change anything complaining on NS
