SOO HARD

This, it would require too much training to use the wand, so I would pick the light saber, that way I can just start slittin' throats right away

Lightsaber. Who has time for all the studying a wand requires. I watched those movies, shit looked tricky.

wand for sure, if someone pisses me off i can just whip out my wand and make them puke their guts out and no one would suspect a thing. however if i have a lightsaber...

Well to use one to it's full potential I'm sure, but Han Solo used Lukes lightsaber and I don't think General Grievous is technically a jedi

This. It's not like a lightsaber turns into a plastic sword if any non-jedi touches it, whereas a wand becomes, essentially, a fancy piece of wood if a muggle tries to use it.

Either Charmander Bulbasaur or Squirtle. And a new life in the Pokemon world with hot anime chicks

i think the better question is...

be a wizard with a wand?

or

a jedi with a light saber?

I think I would choose Jedi..you could do all sorts of stuff and nobody would know since you don't have to yell spells and wave a wand.

First off, don't watch the movies, read the books. Anything you take from the movies is susceptible to being mere fabrication and entirely false.

That being said, there are still muggles, and wizards are the "elite" compared to them, but your point is still a good one. Wizards largely shut themselves off from muggles while Jedi's interact with non-Jedi's all the time.

Dumbledore wanted to be killed by Snape...that was the plan and supposed to happen.

Jedi's are indeed different, but all you really get out of that is a constant power trip over the non-Jedi's. Wizards are, for all intents and purposes, more powerful than Jedi's. There is nothing a Jedi can do, besides perhaps having superior reflexes, that a wizard can't.

That said, I don't know which I'd choose. Jedi's are more badass, but wizards are more powerful.

Seriously. It's not wand or light saber, it's wizard or jedi. You can't just HAVE a light saber, so IF you do have one, you're a jedi, and jedi beats wizard.

Yes but while you have to learn spells as a wizard, you still have to learn to use the force as a jedi.

However, unlike a wand, no training/force required to wave around a sick looking colored laser sword..

No.

You're placing too much value on being better than everyone else, and not enough on the objective comparison. I don't care if everyone else can do magic, that doesn't affect me unless I'm super vein. I would much rather have the huge assortment of abilities that wizards have and be just like everyone else than have an impractical light saber and the ability to push and pull objects around me. An average wizard can be just as effective as a Jedi, and an above average wizard has way more abilities than a Jedi. So unless you anticipate yourself being a Peter Pettigrew or Neville Longbottom (ie. a lame wizard) then wizard is better.

No it cannot. Muggles don't have magical abilities. A wizard can channel his magic through almost any object, but magical objects work better. But there is a connection between 1 wizard and 1 wand which allows for optimal strength.

But I think the question is full potential Wizard vs full potential Jedi

I'd want the lightsaber, just because it's fucking badass. I would probably lose a limb or two and have the whole country looking for me, but it would be worth it. I would have like a 24 hour real life gta time.
