No I don't agree at all. I think it's a matter of individual fatigue and accruing expectations.
It's a GREAT thing that the barriers have all but been totally removed between "professional" and "amateur" videographers. It puts the tools of the trade in the hands of people who wouldn't have had the opportunity to film/edit/produce otherwise. There's so much virtually "independent" shit coming out with little to no obligation to sponsors, and no concern for "careers in the industry" or qualifying for Sochi, that is fucking rad.
Yes, there is a LOT more ski content being produced and released....but that's true across the board well beyond the confines of skiing and edits. Naturally, with more raw numbers, you're going to have a lot of shit that's underwhelming, derivative, unimaginative, and just plain fucking bad. But, that doesn't mean that there isn't incredible shit coming out all of the time. Maybe it takes a little longer to sift through some of the bullshit, but pretty much any and every time I want to watch something brand new on the edit front, I can go to toprated and almost always find something that's ridiculous.
Frankly, the idea that an edit has a responsibility to, or is a failure if it doesn't "change skiing as we know it", is silly to me.
