I remember thsi tthread by the way but in my town in the past 2 years we have had 6 fathers die of kids in the 7th grade and younger. it would be pretty hard for anyone to handle that but +++ vibes for you and his family.
hey man sorry to hear this my friends dad died about a month and a half ago of cancer he had fought with it for about 4 years. he was a great man and i bet your friends dad was too. also to top off my friends dads death one of my friends had a seizure well takeing a bath and drown about 4 days later. sorry to hear about him but give him space and it will get better.
thanks everyone. ^^^^^and yeah i think giving him his space is the best way to handle it. i wrote a little note on facebook but thats about it. if it happened to me i know i wouldnt want to talk to anyone for a while.
my mom passed away a few years ago from breast cancer and it seems like everyone was giving me space, but I didn't like much. I just wanted to be normal and hang out with my friends to help me get over it.
Everyone deals with it differently, but my advice would be to try and talk to him in person or on the phone and just see how he is doing.
my good friend/roommate just found out his dad has parkinsons disease..hes not that old either.. its weird I don't know if i should talk to him or leave him alone to deal with it. That's a miserable disease to to see your dad go through. pretty depressing stuff
