Sometimes i think about life and

i think how we are just on this planet for like 80 years or something....and we will work are asses off and die....so im think whats the purpose of going to secondary school or collge or whatever the hell you want to lable it...

sure you could be a dentist and waste 8 years of your life going to school so you spend 20 years of life in school and get paid lots to look in peoples disgusting mouths...or you could just get a job you like and enjoy even though the pay sucks....but anyways.....what do you guys think?

i agree. my priorities in life are to enjoy first. people get to worried about money. when im older i just want to have a job i like alot and enjoy to do, supports me, and lets me ski alot. i dont care about money as long as i get to ski and be happy

well what about going to the university and getting a job that pays alot and that you like. Then you can ski more because youd have to work less to suppourt a family

or spend all the time that you could be in college being a ski bum and having a good time

The only problem with something like that is you need money in almost every case to enjoy yourself! I mean look at skiing, the expenses are incredible! Plus sometimes if yu have a job liek a chiropractor or something, you make your own hours, say it snow 2 feet, well you can close the office for teh day! But I am going to be a phys ed teacher, its something I enjoy, plus all the time off will be great to ski, and i can go to whistler in teh summer to ski there too! You make ok money, not alot, but enough. I could never be a doctor, but i could never bea dude who cleans up other peoples shit either.

Success cannot be judged on the size of your paycheck. It's all about enjoying your life. Thats the way I'm hoping to live my life... in a way that allows me to do what i enjoy, and be with the people I care about.

This is a rant, don't expect any conclusions.

Alot of people in the west (and influenced by the West) belive that their career is one of the most important things in their life. I read a report saying that most North American Career Women wouldn't take time off their job to have a child because it would hurt their career.

Well, at least the stupid don't breed.

Freud said the the two most important things in life are Work and Love. That's bullshite. Most Eastern (Taoist or Zen Buddist mostly) philosophers who say that Life is the most important thing in life. I'd have to agree with them.

What if we were to Work to Live in stead of Live to Work?

Lets look at a case study:

Two women in their mid-twenties.

One, has gone to collage and got her degree as a teacher. During Collage, she began working in a large deparrtment store, and by the time she was done her education, she was steadily beganing to climb the coporate ladder.

The other woman travels alot. She finnished her degree in something in collage or university (who cares really?), and now travels. After spending 6 months in India, she returned home and worked at a low paying job for a couple of months, just to make enough money to head of to Brazil where she hopes to train as a musician, something in which she has no experience what-so-ever.

The first women has a morgage, credit card bills, and car payments. All of which her salary can cover, but still they keep on her toes.

So, who is more succesful?

But, it dangerous to deviate. Sociel outcasts have always been social outcasts. Simple. A good good example of the problem of democracy (I'm not dumping on democracy, its better that the other forms of totalian goverment, I'm saying the world sucks sometimes). What if these anti-career non-materialist were declared insane by the rest of the populus and action was taken to ''cure'' them (I've been reading Adbusters too much, but, whatever). After all, they are hurting the economy, and that's ''Terrorism'' isn't it?

What is it too deviate?

What new feelings will we know?

What illnesses will it aliviate?

And, what others will it sow?

Marge: Homer, stop picking at it.

Homer (with donut head): Oh, but I'm so sweet and tasty. Well, time to go to work.

Lisa: Dad, I wouldn't go outside if I were you.

[Chief Wiggum and a lot of cops stand on the street outside]

Wiggum: Don't worry, boys. He's gotta come outta there sometime.

And, oh yeah, I'm gonna be a photogragher. When I'm young I can be a ski/bike photog. And when I grow old and have to keep the aspidra flying, I canwork as a commerical/fashion/product photographer.

My parents are so cool. they say that i can do whatever i want after highschool like go skiing. I still want to be an architect eventually. that souds like fun work

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

I prefer to be free

Gordo - yea im going to U for next winter are you going to be out there this coming winter because i know absolutley no one to ski with out there.

i want to be a fighterpilot.. had some experiences last sunday when me and my friend got a ride in hornet.. 45mins flying hornet(well there was a pilot and i was sitting behind) IT WAS SOOO AWESOME!!!! when im fighterpilot i make loads of money, have really cool work and i can go skiing!!!

Me need snow!!

pekkis thats sweet i would love to do that, i think flying one of those jets could be more fun then skiing.. i was thinking about being a pilot but you have to move all over the country and can get sent to like florida where it never snows but i dont know flying a jet would be sooo sweet

Im going for a career in desing or something where i can work for a company and help come up with new idea or help in the development of existing products, maybe a field in marketing. I agree the you cant buy everything with money, but you cant buy a whole lot without. Some people would just like to get by and like to beable to do what they love, id like to do some kickass job that will allow me to do what i love moreso in the long run. cause working 4 days a week getting 210 000 a year and being able to do what you want is so much better than working night shifts at the 7-11 just to pay the rent food and allow you to ski when you want. just a thought

JJ
