Thinking of sending my son to windells

So just like the title says my son is turning 8 this coming November and I'm thinking of sending him the 2016 summer overnights week and was wondering what you guys think and if you have any tips. My true expectations are for him to have fun and hopefully get into the park scene (I'm too old for that stuff) he likes going to the park at our home mountain but I think he would have a better time being able to get some good full time training instead of once or twice a year.

P.s. Tried the search didn't see anything really related
 
He would be fine and if you have the means go for it. I have never gone but especially for someone that young it would point him in the right direction.
 
Yeah get rid of the shit head for a week, he will have lots of fun. Enjoy banging your wife while he is gone.

They're used to catering to kids that young so don't worry about that. He'll have a great time., and where he's still young he'll pick stuff up pretty quickly especially with those facilities on hand.
 
Do it, i went for the first time last summer when i was 14 and it was the highlight of my summer, only wish it wasnt as expensive because i have to pay for it.
 
Sounds good I've checked out their website but I was wondering if there were any tips you guys had or things to pack to make the stay there better for him

bring a good pillow and sleeping stuff, put money in the camper account for grilled cheeses, snacks, etc., bring or buy chapstick, a boot dryer to dry boots and ski stuff that wont get soaked, and tell him to enter as many of the contests at camp as possible, you can win free stuff and its an overall fun time in the contest. hope this helps

Also the obligatory "I wish my parents had sent me to windells". Working in the parks over the years I've seen some younger kids that were just starting out in the park go there in the summer once and progress a ton. I can't really recall ever hearing of anyone having a bad time. And the coaching, fun parks, and riding with other kids your age seems to work wonders on progression.

Seems like people learn more in a week there than a winter season sometimes.
 
Im going to mhssc this summer. I would say sending him to a camp a great idea. Your never to old or to young to shred!
 
I can't fathom how this could be considered a bad idea, especially if you have the means. He'd be the coolest kid on the block when he rolled back into town with a massive goggle tan.
 
I went to last year for the first time and had a blast! Met tons of friends that I still talk to today actually. Park was sick! Food was okay! Bring some money for the staff sale where you can get good stuff for low bucks. Going again this summer 2nd session! But 1 thing don't send him to a late session the snow starts to melt fast and lots of things like the air bag will be closed. Most fun I had all summer
 
I truly feel bad for whoever is in charge of packing a bunch of 8 year olds on and off the glacier each day. No wonder its 2 grand.

Not really trying to roast I just don't want to meet a cocky 10-year-old who thinks he's better than me when I've seen videos and he can barely slide a rail.

Not from this thread lol he's just been annoying and cocky about other threads. He also commented on a video of me filming my friends back home saying that I was bad when I wasnt even in the video. Lol
