Hey guys I'm currently going to school in Vancouver but I'm gonna take time off to ski and see where that brings me. Now usually a person would just go to Whistler but right now you pay 800$ to live in a closet because it's so over populated. So since there arent really any other good parks in Canada I'm gonna have to move down to the states so I have to get a work visa and shit. I'm just wondering what the best place in Colorado would be to work and if you guys know if it's easy to get a place to stay and what not there. If not Colorado I'm gonna try Cali but I've heard keystone and breck are pretty unreal for park. Anywho thanks a lot. O ya if anyone has worked at a hotel in CO I would GREATLY appreciate if you could send me the contact information for it. Thanks a lot. peace.
 
keystone and breck by far have the best parks ive ever been to. you could try craigslist.org for a place but im not sure how much is on there
 
yeah keystone and breck have amazing parks but summit county is a really gay place to live, your life has to be like 99% all about being the biggest stoner you can and maybe 1% about skiing. if i were you id look for some place like steamboat, aspen, crested butte, maybe vail. the towns are much cooler, and they get better snow. summit county is definatly not a good place for powder, while steamboat, aspen cb, and sometimes vail get awesome snow and a shit ton of it. and i know aspen has a sweet park.imo if your looking for an all around good place, dont go to summit.

Summit is a cool place to live with lots of stuff to do. Summit is the center of everything, and Vail isn't far away at all.
 
Unless you have tons of money already CB isnt a good option. No jobs at the mountain and jobs in town and around the valley are almost as hard to find. After not getting my job back at ski school from last year i've been looking for another job since October, no luck.
 
why are you such a summit whore? yea its cool, but its not THAT cool. go explore colorado more instead of staying in your summit bubble.
 
It's the best place to live if you want great parks (like he is asking for, gee who would have thought) and Vail is a great place to find pow only a half hour away. I just skiied knee deep yesterday off of Breck's T-bar though, so good stuff all over. The rest of Colorado has snow, but I would never want to live most places for a year.

Oh ya, and maybe she likes Summit because she lives there. Stop being a dickhead.
 
What....? Steamboat, Vail, and Aspen all get almost the same amount of snow as Summit (especially since Vail is barely out of Summit County). As for the stoner lifestyle, I think that's your fault, not societies.
 
I fucking live in Summit and I love it. I ski Keystone every single fucking day, and I haven't complained once.

I lived in Boulder, but I wasn't going to school there and it kinda far from the mountains because of that.

I've spent a lot of time in FoCo, but it's out of the way. If I were to get back into horses again then I would move to FoCo.

I was considering on going to school in Gunni, but who wants to go to Wasted State? Not me. No offense to people who go there.

Aspen is stuck up.

Steamboat is far away.

Summit has a lot of stuff and I love it.
 
summit is probably one of the worst places in colorado for snow, and worse than most places in the west. its just a bad location for powder, it may snow off and on for a week, but you will only get like 2 inches a day usually. vail isnt amazing, but with my experience they get more snow at once than summit. and steamboat kills summit for powder. almost every time ive gone there ive gotten a pow day. they always seem to get their snow in one big dump. and aspen, when ive been there has been quite a bit better than summit too, not quite as good as steamboat though, and the town isnt great either.
if you can stand the huge amount of stoners, then thats awesome. but it just bugs the crap out of me, i lived in summit for the 06/07 season and the 07/08 and i just couldnt take it. its so hard to find people that want to do something other than smoke and drink as much as they possibly can when your not skiing. some of the locals that have lived there for like 10+ years seem to turn in to such depressed pieces of shit. theres just so many other places in colorado you can live that are so much cooler.

 
i dont see why youre gettin all defensive. so what you live here, so do i. and so what you ski keystone every single fucking day... i try my best to. i never said you complained either so i have no idea where that came from. just seems like youre all giddy because youre in a new place. colorado is awesome, theres more to it than summit though.

All I said was that every example you gave gets almost the exact same annual snowfall average (look it up). Unless you go down South or over to CB, the snow is the same. No one wants to live out in the middle of nowhere down South though, and there are so many powder hounds at CB that you have to wait in line all morning on a pow day. If this guy is willing to make the drive he could live in Denver or something where there is more non-skiing stuff to do.
 
the thing is though, i like powder and dropping cliffs and stuff but I ski almost 100% park I want to move to CO to train for US open so even though pow pow is amazing, it's not my top priority
 
Ya, Aspen is stuck up. So don't come here, I will have all the snow to myself hahaha. They all have good and bad, but I think that between our four mountains there is great variety, and we do have the x games park plus a killer park in snowmass. I'm not gonna lie, it is expensive, but not stuck up. I have gotten a cold shoulder at lots of ski areas by locals that think they are too cool, not just Aspen. I feel like we have lots of hotels and condos that always need workers if thats what you want to do for a job. Jobs here generally pay a little more here because the cost of living is higher. I almost forgot..Vail sucks!
 
If you are moving for park, go to Summit and don't look back. There is no substitute and that should end our arguing for good.
 
in colorado summit is the place for park for sure, maybe aspen but whatever. but id choose mammoth over summit any day, mammoth is such a cool mountain, you get to ski in like 40+ degree weather all the time in the middle, which is much better than our 0 degree and windy as fuck even on a sunny day weather. summits amazing for park, but if i had to pick one place for park, it would be mammoth for sure.
 
yea man that was the exact and only reason i'd want to go to mammoth. i've been to mammoth before but not colorado. mammoth was sunny pretty much the whole time and had a pretty sick park, AMAZING jumps but kinda shitty jibs. Looking at Breck it looks like it's got some fucking amazing jumps too and amazing jibs but looks like it can get pretty damn cold sometimes... im used to it though im from the east.
 
im not even gonna chime in on the silly summit vs. rest of colorado argument thats going on here but dude iif you really think the weather is that bad here go to new england for like a week, you'll never mind the weather here again. colorado is pretty damn warm all the time

except a basin sometimes
 
You need to get over your whole elitist straight edge thing. What do you want people to go on a hike with you or something? If your done skiing or done working all you want is a nice drink to settle you down. Just because you don't like to get down doesn't mean other people shouldn't, guess what, they probably don't like your lifestyle either.
Yes, the people in Breck do love to drink, smoke and blow coke. That's what they do and they enjoy it. I know there are a shit ton of bros there, as well as Boulder cock suckers and the majority of people's multiple tall tee clothing style is cause for people to get beaten. But if they're having fun, while looking and acting like douches, then let them do their thing. They're cool people there too.

Living up here kinda blows. Nice to be close to Keystone but there are no girls, and the girls who are up here have boy friends or just big sluts. Cold as shit, and overcast 5 our of the 7 days a week.
 
^yea i second that question. I've only been here since Jan and I have been loving it. (steamboat before that, but that doesnt count as colorado, its just texas jr.)

vail, aspen, anywhere south and WP get way more powder days, like a foot of snow overnight, thats powder. i skied 140 days last year, most at copper, and i had maybe 4 or 5 power days. and everyone brags about it being such a great snow year...bullshit. i had 5 powder days at a-basin alone in april.

go to WP or mammoth if u like park, both places are way chill, 100times chiller than summit. Summit is full of kids who think they're the shit and like to get drunk and spend money at the bars...gay.

I live in WP now and its the shit, been coming here every other weekend for a couple years and im sooo glad i finally moved here, the people are great and so is the snow. I've skiied so much powder already this year its ridiculous.

also mammoth is way way chill, kinda quiet, but if thats your thing than sweet, so much sunshine and such great park skiing.
 
thank you, thats exactly what i hate about summit, so many kids up there that think they are the hottest shit around, and drink and smoke their brains out every fucking night, its not partying its mostly sitting on a couch all night getting extremely fucked up, its depressing. everyone got this like fake "chill" attitude, but some of those same chill kids are some of the most uptight bitches ive ever met, if your not wearing 5 tall t's they wont talk to you, if your not willing to become a crack head with them they get all butt hurt.
look at some of the guys who have lived there for awhile, some of the 30+ year olds i know have just gone like almost brain dead, work their ass off to afford all the drugs and alcohol they rely on, then ski like a day a week, i guess that just sounds like a little too much fun to me.
obviously not everyone is like this there still some really cool people, but they are rare.
i guess it just seems like everyone here is straight outa highschool, brogan and magoon wannabe's
 
if you really want to base your life on what some dumb kids do, then go for it. I really am not concerned with what other people do as long as it doesnt affect me. Been having awesome skiing, awesome roommates, and a great time so ffar, so i really dont see what the issue is. I'm here for myself, and could care less about what everyone else wants to do.
 
There are a fair amount of girls when Summit County is compared to a remote mountain town, but overall they don't have shit for girls. When girls on the front range start looking good, you know something is wrong. I would highly suggest just saving time and going gay.
There are a few cool girls in Breck, but there are so many guys going after them that it isn't worth the effort. You really need to import girls from school. There are an unlimited amount of horse-faced, muffin topped girls in Breck, ever wonder why the guys drink so much? Also there are so many girls that have adopted the tall t inspired ensemble and think they are so sweet for the guys they follow around in freeway. These girls should be verbally abused at any chance you get. Summit County allows girls to get guys they wouldn't get anywhere else. And Keystone is even worse than Breck.

Here are the only options you have:
1. Go gay.
2. Drink until you black out or get double vision. Or just hook up with some gnarly faced local and blame it on alcohol to your friends even though you liked it.
3. Go to Boulder.
 
Guy knows what he is talking about. I'm 22 so I can go out to the dope bars full of dudes and then drive home with all the cops around.

Boulder is a diffrent story, mad girls, alot of partys and a bunch of sluts.
