Thinking of getting into skiing

Okay so after 8 years on this site i figured what the hey, might pick up skiing

i need some gear advice though. What kind of skis/boots would you recommend for a beginner?

also, any general advice?

Dont buy expensive stuff at first because there is a chance you find out after skiing 2 times that you dont enjoy it. Dont also give up if you feel like you arent gonna learn anything the first season, it takes a lot of time and effort. And as someone said, learn to ski and brake etc before even attempting to go to park, hope that helps a bit!

Ive always wondered if people like you existed. I use to frequent another forum for hacking and some members were only there just to make chit chats. I have a few questions for this AMA

1. Are you lonely?

2. How did you find ns

3. Why this forum instead of others

4. What trick will you try on first time

Seriously people? Seriously? Has the Internet become so dumb that people don't do any basic checking before jumping to conclusions? At least look through his past threads...such as his first post on this site.

It's gotten so much easier to troll now that people are so much stupider. I blame Obama.

just joined for NSG. tried to blend into the community by looking for gear etc until i got a grasp of stuff like 'cool skiers (and not cool skiers) same with gear etc

NSG used to be a lot of fun and when it died out completely around 3 years ago I left. Now I'm considering starting to ski for real

or maybe yall just a bunch of gullible idiots or maybe both???
