ok so oviusly the exchange rate varies..but does the exchange rate effect to the cost if your coming from the northeast/new england area? (US)

Im thinking of going in feb march.

let me know.thanks!

Rob just because those people out west are a little weird doesn't mean they use different money... Usually when you book it, it'll automatically adjust for exchange rates so you're going to pay the price that you see. Make sure you exchange your money when you get there too (You rich boys eh? Nah we're lazy boys).

yes please exchange your money when you get here. we take american dollars at most stores in whistler but seriously, it makes you look arrogant and pretentious.

just so you know.

welll if you gonna do it exchange the money now. i owe 700US dollars and if i did it a couple of months ago it woulda put like an extra 20 bucks on, but now i gotta pitch out another like 200$

If you exchange while the dollar is weak you will get less for each dollar....so don't exchange while it's weak. Just think about it.

why wouldnt they exchange now. The Canadian dollar is the worst it has been in a long time. Think about 5 months ago. that would have been a bad time being an american coming to canada.

I never minded when people used american money in whis. I would give the US dollar at par for them being lazy, pocket the american money, put my own CDN in the til, then wait for a good exchange rate and make money off it.

hah i pulled out a dollar in england and the guy looked at me like i was a freak.. haha. have fun in whistler dude thatll be dope

how is it at all pretentious? arrogant maybe, but pretentious?

regarding the actual topic: just use your credit card, you'll get the best exchange rate within 30 days of your purchase and it's easier.

$1.00 USD would get you $1.26 CAD as of today. It fluctuates daily and who knows what it will be in a few months.

Hell, I remember a few years ago when $1.00 USD got you $1.50+ CAD. Those were the days.

exchange now while the dollar sucks. but whistler is an expensive place so your still goinng to be spendin the mad dollaz.

and it is the guaranteed best exchange rate. big class action suit against mastercard and visa is currently going down (last chance to hop on to get "your money back" was in May) about them using the wrong rates and charging "bogus" fees.

yeah pretentious is the wrong term here

arrogant? yes definitly, Canada is not the same country as the US, we dont use the same currency and our values are different, you gotta respect the local culture, customs and laws when you travel.

Right now CAD is stupidly low, so if you bought canadian dollars now you'd make money. Look at prices like they're 22% off, because that's what today's exchange rate is. It's supposed to start getting better soon (for Canadians).
Whistler is really expensive usually though, and they make it harder on non-BC residents. So you'll still be spending bunches of money.

As for the credit card thing, I'd like clarification, because I'm gonna pick up some bacons in the states, but the exchange rate is kinda harsh right now.How does it work? Do they automatically charge the best rate, or do you have to apply for it? And does it only work for the next 30 days, or does it include 30 days before?

WHAT!? Canada left? where the fuck did it go!? Thank god its back at least! Don't you go leavin on me Canada!
