Severe Weather Alert from the National Weather Service

...SNOW AVALANCHE BULLETIN NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RENO NV 800 AM PST WED DEC 08 2004

THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE IN TRUCKEE CALIFORNIA HAS ISSUED AN AVALANCHE ADVISORY FOR THE BACKCOUNTRY OF THE CENTRAL SIERRA BETWEEN YUBA PASS AND SONORA PASS.

THIS ADVISORY WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM DECEMBER 9.

AVALANCHE DANGER IS HIGH NEAR AND ABOVE TREE LINE WHERE WIND LOADING HAS OCCURRED. AVALANCHE DANGER IS CONSIDERABLE BELOW TREE LINE IN STEEP PROTECTED AREAS WHERE SURFACE HOAR IS NOW WELL BURIED.

HIGH AVALANCHE HAZARD INDICATES THAT UNSTABLE SNOW EXISTS IN THE BACKCOUNTRY. AVALANCHES ARE LIKELY ON A VARIETY OF ASPECTS AND SLOPE ANGLES. SAFEST TRAVEL IS ON WINDWARD RIDGES OF LOWER ANGLE SLOPES WITHOUT STEEPER TERRAIN ABOVE. TRAVEL IN AVALANCHE TERRAIN IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Snow is packing down already. There is no powder at all, more like a foot of wet hard pack. But yeah it will probably still slide on the steep slopes

 
My spot is a high ridge that has one semi steep side. It should be fine. if there was an avi in the area above we would be on an island.

^^ Have you skied this week bro? There is massive powder fool. Like four feet since monday in some areas. You must be a weekend warrior jealous that it's chopped by Saturday.
