Think about this for a second.

listen man i understand your outlook on life which is respectable...but in a democracy it is the citizens duty to examine and participate in politics...if this was a dictatorship that would be another thing. I dont go around telling people we are going to be nuked and worry about it at night...but if the occasion to debate arises i will take part. I see your view when it comes to car crashes and small scale tradgedies... but when it comes to nuclear holocaust, i am a little more involved.

the earth is a pretty special thing, and the fact that we are alive is 1 in a billion. so if i can disagree with a few leaders who seek to stage such annihilation apon that think called life, i will.

vote ron paul.

No, it doesn't. Not when we are selling to those that are against us. We sell plenty enough to our allies who could easily fall under that category of terrorists.

Not really. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) keeps these in check, because one thermonuke on LA would be a lot bigger of a problem compared with a couple of our thermonukes in the Chinese Countryside.

1. the united states is not a democracy, if it were so nothing would get accomplished because everyone's job would be to vote on laws, the u.s. is a republic (the people are represented by congressmen, senators etc.

2. the war in iraq is not a declared war (last declared war was ww2), it is a policing action, because of this it is much more difficult to control through congress, they can take steps to pull troops out but its limited

obviously, but a thermo nuke on beijing? one of the biggest cities in the world would be devastating, the united states has enough nuclear power packed away to level all landmasses on earth SEVEN times

allow me to translate enough nukes to blow up every square inch of dry land on earth 7 times that is a force to be reckoned with and why the u.s. hasn't already been nuked, nuclear deterrence is key. the fact that the u.s. has enough nukes to blow the earth to little bits and pieces is enough to keep iran/north korea at bay

man i wouldn't worry about it so much. yeah it's extremely bothersome, but you'll die young from the stress of worrying about something you can't do anything about like that.

what about all the dead soldiers you fucking asshole, my best friend is in iraq right now so it does matter

A republic is a form of government maintained by a state or country whose sovereignty is based on consent of the governed and whose governance is based on popular representation. that's from wikipedia. all true republics are "democratic republics" it just means "the people's republic" there is no such thing as a non democratic republic

oh and as far as voting to pull troops out of the war in iraq, it cannot be done simply because it is not technically a war, it is a policing action under the command of the president, congressmen only have a say as to how much money is put into the war funds and they can give the president suggestions and "plans" on what they want to see but ultimately it's up to the commander in chief

the war in iraq is not a declared war

the u.s. hasn't declared war since ww2 dumbass it's a "policing action" look it up asshole

He's right...very bitter, but right.

Vietnam, Korea, etc...All were police actions. Congress didn't put out a declaration of war for any of them.
