Things you do that other skiers don't do

I hype people up I don't know if they are doing cool shit including but not limited to:

not wearing a real jacket, skiing bumps super fast, jumping off stuff, owning cool skis, etc.

I wish this wasn't weird, because I want the mountain to be a giant stoke city, but 90% of people seem taken aback by it.

there are still places like this? i thought everywhere had some park people or at least kids confident with jumping and doing it nonstop

instead of dropping cigarette butts and joint roaches on the snow or in a pocket, I clip them under my boot buckles and throw them away in a bin when I stop at a lift station or the bottom of the mountain.

Do everything well, jack of all trades but master of none. My turns make ski instructors heads turn. Then Ill rip a big 540 while I have their attention and hold the switch skiing all the way down to the bottom. Next day, Ill have a park session with another group of buddies. The. Finish the day in a mogul infested run and have fun zippering the line.A day after, Ill lead my team 12 miles from the car, deep into the backcountry, and huck a 30 footer while out there.

So there is nothing special that I do, but I do it all and more

Give genuine encouragement to beginners as I ski past them!

This is something I've been trying to do more, on the slopes, and on the trails. I love seeing groms that are legit having the time of their lives getting in to sports that have brought me countless smiles and good times.

Film good. I swear everyone I know kinda sucks at filming whether it’s on a camera or just an iPhone. No sense of good angles or framing of shots.

this is why I only get a few follow cams per video projects

I genuinely have like several friends who can even do it, and we are rarely ever able to link up

don’t get how people do this

Working hands I guess. You get used to it. Kinda clutch tbh, ease of earbud pause/play/skip/volume, don’t have to take anything off to take a clip, easy adjustment of your glasses or goggles, easier grabs, etc. Plus you just look like a badass doing it anyway.

And? You know how many miles some of us dudes walk and work in a single golf season? Too many. Don't talk shit.

Anyways idk what I do differently but skiing is rad and I like how weird you all are too.

Practice looking over my opposite shoulder riding switch

I actually hate looking over my left shoulder switch so much that I mostly spin right off of jumps switch. I spin left naturally

spinning unnat off a jump is preferable to using my other shoulder for me lmao

I think my right shoulder preference started because looking over my right shoulder puts me right foot forward when I switch lip onto a rail

Plus when I started golfing everyday it fucking shreds your hands from the blister to callus cycle. All dudes I know who play a shit ton and have their whole life have the most insane leather hands it’s kinda funny.

I rotate to the right naturally but when in switch I prefer going to the left. I'm assuming everyone rotates to their opposite side in switch, right? Attempted switch blender (rotating to the right) a couples times and could not keep my left leg with me so I'd sprawl out in the air lol

Nah the vast majority of my friends spin the same way switch as forward and think I'm crazy for doing what you describe. Blenders are fucking terrifying, I tried one once, never again

Why does that blow my mind. I've been living in my own little lie this whole time

Working on the turf has done more damage to my body than skiing ever will. I feel that. My hands look rough
