so im going to brussels in 16 days with a couple of my friends and we're going to see another friend that moved there.

so just to make the trip a little bit better, i have a question:

besides drinking all day and night, what else is there to do in and/or around brussels?

+k for legitimate responses that i might try

Brussels is not one of the more inspiring European capitals.

That said, drink, lots and lots.

Moules-frites for dinner. Walk down Petit Bouchers, but don't eat at the restaurants there.

Waffles, great on cold days.

Grand Place, of course. Best square in Europe.

If you want a look at the 'other' side of Brussels, the neighborhoods near the south station are worth a look.

Day trips to Antwerp, Bruges, Namur, Leuven. Cologne is even not too far away.

^^you could visit "leuven" its not far away and its a pure student city, right now the exams are over and everyone has a week vacation, after that everyone is back in leuven and there are some of the sickest parties !
brussels isn't much intersting, nightlife is ok but gets ffed up by foreigners starting fights for random shit...
if you like culture and stuff, brussels is ok, definately check out "the marollen" its one of the oldest city parts and there live a very particular type of people :)

If you plan on traveling on the train system I highly recommend getting a Eurorail pass. If you get a eurorail pass you can easily hop on a train and go to Berlin, Prague, or even Austria for some skiing. I went to Germany for 19 days over winter break and got hosed on train tickets because they are crazy expensive if you do not by the eurorail pass. But honestly I would travel around and see things. Amsterdam is a lot of fun so check that out for sure.

how much is a Eurorail pass? because we wanted to go to Amsterdam, and im sure if that pass isnt too expensive we would go to other places aswell.

we arent going up to ski, but everything else is a fair game

cant remember exactly, but not too expensive. definitely worth it if you're going to Amsterdam though. its been said, but red light district is a must
