Things to check out in Vancouver?

Hey guys,

Im flying into vancouver on wednesday from New Zealand and spending 3 days there before driving up to golden for the season. Does anyone have any suggestions of cool things/places to check out while im in town?
 
i staying at a backpackers on main street, a couple hundred meters down from the corner of east hastings, i didnt research where it was i just book the cheapest accom i could, fuck me that place is disgusting.
 
Dude East Hastings isn't that bad. It's got the best punk/metal bars in the whole city with the cheapest drinks.
 
haha i went to a halloween rave in some ghetto ass korean senior citizens community center on east hastings street in october

Heading to Vancouver from the UK for 8 days, arriving this Saturday.

Any good bars, pubs, clubs that you would recommend as well as areas of the city to go/avoid.

... look up vancouver events on google, find stuff you like, buy tickets. this is the best way to have fun in vancouver, unless you really really want to see (stanley park, cap bridge, beaches, walking, city biking, forests, squamish, whistler (and everything in between)).

By UK standards the night life in Van is pretty shit. I would say I've had the best times at Fortune Sound Club out of all the 'clubs' in van
