all you really have to do is look at the positive aspects of every day life.

a lot of fucked up things may be happening now adays, but people are still good.

Sounds like something Liam Neeson would do.

Instead of running past her to avoid the last-place finish, Vogel put McMath's arm around her shoulders, carried her 30 meters, and then pushed her over the finish line before crossing it.

Sue Drummond was walking her beloved Shih Tzu, Bibi, on a pier in Melbourne, when a fierce gust of wind picked him up and hurled him into the rough waters of the bay. A passerby, Raden Soemawinata, who happened to be on the pier that day to scatter his grandmother's ashes, wasted no time in stripping down and diving into the bay to rescue the animal.

agreed. then some guy that calls himself Swagg O' Shay or something exploits all of those pictures and captions it with something incoherent or "how many likes?"

When I see someone my age who will stop to open a door for someone older, or a girl. From the time I could understand what my parents said, I was told to be polite to women, and the elderly. Then again, I really do like when someone goes out of their way to save an animal.

I've always thought this way, but I hold open doors for anyone not just specific people, but preferably a pretty lady.

First off, skewed facts.second, to each his own. the thread isn't called "things that make ryano restore faith in humanity" keep the political discussion in the political threads.

funny how that chart fails to mention how in 2008 gas prices went up to more than $4 in most of the US.

Thems was dark times chirren, dark times indeed. Most of you probably couldn't drive yet. The hell am i saying...most of you probably still can't drive.

I used to coast (literally) every friday afternoon into the gas station to fill up my car for another week. Was a financial hit for me back then.

Saw a kid no older than 8-10 years old get out of the passenger seat of the car he was in, open up his grandmothers door, she was driving, and held her hand to the store, and opened that door. Idk, guess I have a soft spot for that kind of stuff. Thought it was pretty cool.

yea, i know the gas price thing on the chart is a bit flawed. but i didnt make the chart. but the other 3...

but whatever. i'll stop the political shit.

All the Sagan series really inspire me for some reason. I like to think that is is Humanity's destiny to explore the galaxy.

There is a bike ride held every year by the MS society that goes from Cherry Hill NJ to Ocean City NJ. My sister and I have been riding it for the last five years as homage to our dad who was an avid biker but has had to stop due to his affliction with MS. Two years ago, as we crossed the finish line and saw our mom and grandparents cheering us on, I noticed that my mom was in tears. When we finally met up with them, I asked my mom was it was that she was crying. She said nothing and handed me a blue envelope with some money and a letter inside. This is how the letter reads.

Hello dear friend,

My name is Lonnie (last name here). I'm from Boyertown PA, between Phila and Reading. I am 54 years old and have been riding the MS 150 for approximately 17 years. I have been very fortunate because I am able to raise several thousand dollars every year. My goal is to keep riding until I am no longer able to.

The reason I do this is because I can. I only suffer with sore muscles for a few days after. The other reason why I do this is because I know you would if you could.

I get a very good feeling when I am being applauded by individuals stricken with MS. This is the least I can do to help stop this terrible disease I hope I am really helping people.

I want to try and help out in another way. My goal is to make you smile and at least feel good for a little while. Let me explain.

When I raise money for MS, some individuals will give cash instead of check. I divide up the cash and give it to people stricken with MS. This is the agreement I have with people who give me cash.

Remember, I am not trying to cure you. I just want you to have a good feeling and get a good smile out of you.

Here is my deal with you. Yes there are some rules with this gift:

If at all possible, you must use this for something fun. Maybe something you wanted to do or get but just could not because lack of extra cash.

You must contact me in some way and let me know what you did with it. You can write, e-mail and send pictures. This way I know I have reached my goal.It is not much, but if you are feeling good inside it must be just right.

Thanks for supporting me so I can continue to help fight MS.

Your friend, Lonnie (last name here)

He then provided his contact info at the bottom of the letter. In case you are wondering, my dad who can barely stand (let alone walk) has always wanted to skydive. When I find them, I'll upload the pictures.

I regained hope in myself, friends, and humanity when I took a trip to Botswana Africa last summer and started a music program at a center for underprivileged children. It was one of the most intense and emotionally challenging experiences of my life but seeing the local hospitality and the enthusiasm of people who had nothing was one of the most refreshing things I have ever experienced. It was strangely foreign. You don't find people in the states like you do over there.

Here is a shot of me teaching the guitar to some of the kids.

Went to Wendies with a bunch of my friends about a year ago and made my order. Im always extremely polite and considerate whenever Im at the store or ordering anything so this was no different, a couple pleases, thank yous and what not. I drove around to the window to pay and they gave me all of the food for free, plus a few frosties too. The guy told me "Not too many people are polite anymore, talking like that will get you far in life, kid". Goes to show you that being nice will pay off at some point.
