Things that have been said to you on hill that stick out

I made it to the end of a 6-kink rail at the canyons when Chug was filming, and he gave me props. Another time I smashed my face on something in the park and Andy Parry checked on me and found ski patrol. Those two stand out.

Oh this one guy at deer valley when I worked there who explained the concept of tax shelters and how rich people mostly write off these huge properties as investments and rake-in tons of money tax free annually.

Wait until you hear about charities and philanthropists..

there were once these two guys in the lift line behind me trying to decide what brand of skis i had on (they were my k2 catamarans that are like super obvioulsy k2) and homeboy was like, "you sure those arent armadas, i couldve swore my (brother or whoever) just bought some armadas and they looked like that." So after a minute or so of listening, I turned around and told 'em they were K2s and they wouldnt believe me, they even argued with me about it, it was so wack. I was so confused and its quite a classic story in my group now haha

nah bro.. you just don't know what you're skiin on! get with it

Cant think of anything anyone said to me but ahall got a clip of my shitty three on closing day and put it in his season edit so that was really cool even though I looked like a jerry

Not sure if this really counts but I love when you’re standing at the top of the jumps and someone heckles you from the chairlift saying “do a flip!”, obviously thinking you’re a poser and can’t actually do any tricks. So you drop in and actually do a flip and get a “whoooaaaa!!!!! That was sick!” in return. Always a great feeling

Haha yes good call. I was in the habit of doing switch backies for a while, so when someone says ‘do a backflip’ and then you drop one switch.. that’s that good feeling right there

idk how i forgot this but, on the day last year i finally got some backflips all the way around, some lady was being a bitch about me hiking up to hit this jump and then her squad of 12 people made some noise when i flipped. pretty cool.

edit: for some reason i chopped off the end of the clip but you cant hear them either way

Me being embarrassed of constantly wrecking in the park and a high school kid saying, “who cares? You don’t see anyone else your age (45) here trying”

"Your video about ____ helped me learn how to ____!"

It doesn't get much more gratifying for me than that. Any of the negatives that come with making videos get forgotten when I hear that something I made actually helped someone else.

I teach skiing part time. Yeah I know pisa is kinda of lame.

And I've taught hundreds of kids and adults

But recently at a pot shop this kid behind the counter said. "hey. You taught me to ski". You made it so fun"

And that shit nearly brought me to tears.

I remember being 14 and hiking this tube with an older dude, probably more than twice my age, and he told me I could “get somewhere with skiing”, we were both trying blind and front 2s and I was nailing a couple of them. I always knew it obviously couldn’t happen but it’s something that’s always resonated with me and honestly one of the nicest things someone’s ever said to me. I think about it often and I always think about that homie when I learn something new.

lets year your wholesome and nice things people have said to you on the hill over the years that’s marinated in yo brain.

In about 2008-2009 I was working on 2 on's on a tiny poop tube at a small Minnesota resort one random night after skiing open until almost close at the time. The park crew there and head of park crew were super cliquey and not super approachable. Me not being shy and having exchanged a few words with this head of park crew dude saw him in the park. So I asked him for a few pointers and he literally told me to give up.

That was a defining moment for me and I swore to myself I would always be kind and try to be helpful to others when I got older. At the time I was 100% invested in skiing but didn't know anyone and was just looking for people to ski with. I still to this day cant believe the chip on the shoulders of those dudes. I still hold some resentment for the way they treated people and were so two-faced about many things over the years. I'll never forget that but I'm thankful for it because it helped motivate and lead me in a better direction where I think we've done a lot more good in skiing because of it.

Sitting on Wildcat at Alta, I was just this 20 year old kid washing dishes at the Pdog, and this 55 year old guy started chatting me up. He asked what I was doing, I told him. He said he was staying in the lodge for his week a year with his ski buddies. He said he would trade everything he has in this life to be in my position. His company, his wife, his family, all the money, everything. It just validated that I had something figured out, and all my old peers who said I was making a shit decision in life by dropping out of college and learning to ski, could fuck right off. 8 years later here we are. Good vibes and pow skiing is all I need.

A few years ago my lil bro layed down underneath a drop off and threw up his board like a jump right underneath the main lift. Everyone was yelling at me as I was heading towards it and right before I hit it some dude yelled “don’t be silly send it” and I threw a front flip and the whole

lift was hollering. That feeling still resonates with me

Damn I misread your username and thought it said NaziFluids for a second. Welcome to NS

I was learning swap 2 combos and a kid yelled from the lift asking if I was pro. that was pretty chill

chip (nogoggs) told me my 2 on was dope and then i preceded to catch an edge on my next 2 on right infront of him. I got flipped over the end of the rail and landed on my ski. It’s all G tho cause he is the realest homie and helped me up, grabbed my other ski, lapped with me the rest of the night. He also gave me some tips to make my lip ons better along with my swaps. Also told me my carve wobble 3 japan was heat. Definitely feels good coming from not just a homie but insanely talented and stylish skier.

How wide?

I remember it being my second day ever skiing and this guy that’s a few years older than me riding Vishnu’s was teaching me how to slide a low rail. I think I got it in like 4 or 5 try’s. He asked me how long I’d been skiing and was super stoked and supportive, and we rode the rest of that night. Still message him sometimes on insta.

Got to chat with him a little when I was up there for closing weekend and he was undoubtedly one of the most down to earth people I’ve ever met. Insanely nice dude.

Used one of your how to hit a rail vids a few years back when teaching my daughter how to hit rails last year. Thanks, much appreciated

Whenever i hike a trick for a while and finally get it and the snowboarders all react too. My first kfed on a rail got me some hi fives in the lift line from a bunch of random people I've never met haha.

"dude i ride here like everyday I can cut the lift line"

most riders at bush are chill but some really fuck up the vibe

Bad: Long time ago learning to ski switch under the lift. I'm going slowly and hear a sarcastic "wow soooo cool."

Good: "You look like you're from Colorado or something" after telling people I mainly skied on a tiny mountain in PA.

Great: "follow me" from a kid I met on the lift during an epic 20" pow day in Jackson. Led me to some great stashes for a couple runs.
