Things have changed

the thing is, anybody that has the where with all to train at an olympic level, and truly wants to win gold, won't care about smoking weed or whatever. a. there's always off-season b. it doesn't really matter because those that want to get high and party can go to the masters.

you can smoke a pack of cigs and get shit faced the day before a comp and pass a "drug test" and complete no problem...

but then if you took a puff of a joint a day before or even a week before the comp you wont pass the drug test and wont be able to compete...

yeah, that doesnt really make any sense..

FUCK FIS

If you want to be an Olympic athlete, you need to train like one. To be at the top of your sport, you need to put in the time and effort to make sure that your body is in top shape. What kind of message does it send if your allowed to go to the Olympics and be a druggy? It will basically make the sport look like a joke.

And if you people think its so bad that you have to do drug tests, just look at all the things that have happened to ski cross this year. We've had our sport taken from the X-Games, so honestly stop complaining about pointless things.

If you want your sport in the Olympics, then suck it up and start to be more professional.

smh......this is so dangerous to the individuality of skiing. Once rules like these are put into skiing it can become just like any other sport. Obviously there need to be some rules in the competition aspect of skiing, but drug testing has the potential to harm the very essence of what skiing is. This is why the filming scene is 10x better than competition.

I don't think people are arguing the point that drugs in competition are bad but more so the point that weed shouldn't be considered a drug in the context of illegal for competition.

Weed is 100x better for you then alcohol everyone knows this, it's all just the negative stigma associated with weed that makes it a deviant drug. This is starting to fade away with states in the US legalizing it, but we might not see it globally accepted as an acceptable intoxicant for another 100 years.
