These storms better be for real...

same in snowmass but the forcast calls for the storm to start bringing all the snow tomorrow morning.

supposed to give a decent sized dump though.

i think like 3ish inches during the day today at vail, which is about what they were calling for from the leading edge of the first front, supposed to get more tonight
the real storm is supposed to kick in around wakeup tomorrow morning and carry through the next few days, hopefully it does what it's supposed to...i wont say numbers but what ive been hearing sounds greaaaat
now ill go slam my dick in a door to hopefully make up for jinxing it

That would be sick, but I'm going to have to head down there next week :( Have a sick day if you are there!

snowed a Foot in ol Grand Junction. snow day for Mesa State!!!! awsome day!! hit urbans and such!!

kinda disapointed it didn't dump as much as predicted but still stoked on snow and the cold weather to hopefully keep it around.

it's fucking 1 degree in fort collins right now.

how are conditions looking for sledding around the A-basin area or vail pass? Would it be a sever rock hazard for sleds right now or is it legit?
I've been stuck at home with finals during these storms, but I'm heading out Tuesday if conditions permit. Any help is appreciated!!!

Yes, lots o' rock hazards. Vail pass has had very minimal/poor coverage before this recent snow and I assume the same for a-basin/montezuma. The forest service had limited snowmobiles to only the service roads in the vail pass rec area. Not sure on that status since the new snow.
I hate to be negative but in the big picture, we just didn't get that much new snow and what we got has been transported and loaded into many different aspects due to the high winds making for inconsistent coverage.
Just a hunch but I would check leadville out, they did get a bit more snow than us. Hope this helps.

yea that was the impression I got, but I was hoping, optimistically, that I would be wrong.
I really appreciate the help!! Nothing worse than rolling up to a spot, sleds gear and all, and finding a sever lack of snow.
I know the San Juans got a healthy dose so it looks like that will be the bet even though that drive sucks.

gotten 6 or so inches today at my house in silverthorne....hopefully that means a lot more up high

for real? every forecast says only like 1-3 but thats awesome. avy danger is gonna suck though, and i was hoping to get some backcountry in this week...

haha, backcountry right now... ha. no way dude. i'm seeing (small) slides even inbounds just on the sides of groomers with 3 inch crowns at snowmass. that shitty layer before this storm is going to fuck with things for a while now.

that said, there's 13 new inches of powder at snowmass that i can only ski for one run today since ihave to go back to school for finals.
