like theres only one u can spin into and outof them and i guess onefooters oh ya u can hit them straight and do like a 50/50 )if u want the biggest sackattack of your life !!

 
yeah thats one thing bout skiing that snowboarding is more diverse in. They can do so much more on rails which is wiked sick. We can only basically spin on to them cuz 1 ft grinds are hardley ever done and 50/50's are usually just done on the down of a downkink or like an urban rail that holds ur ski on the rail.

 
natural and unatural. You can flip on if your nuts or crazy good. You can cross your skis. Theres butters. Soul grind if you have a sole plate and you are flexible or you have skiboards.

You could try a unity(I think thats what its called) when your feet face different directions.

look at it like this... its an area of this sport with a lot of room for progression. so be creative. i think we're gonna start seeing some new stuff.

that would be sweet if pipes had coping to grind but the implications are obviouus and brutal. Imagine decking it out on your back on the coping. I guess they could do it for small sections of hte pipe on the assumtion you have to be damn stupid or damn good to air it out there.

tanner can spin while grinding on a table.... thas pretty cool. I think its probably more about stomping bigger and crazier rails more so than techy grinds. The 3 kinked roller coaster in ski movie 3 was crazy shit.

ever been to rail jam comp? there's tons of stuff people are doing on rails now. swith on, swith off; 270's and 450's on & off, front flips, back flips & mistys on, disasters & switch disasters onto kinks, natural then unnatural over kinks and rainbows... it's endless.

spin onto and off rails i guarantee you cant do them especially big rails so go learn them until them shut up you havent accomplished anything

 
how about a blind side switch up?

theres fast slides (grind with your front foot only) and backslide (grinding with your backfoot only.)

theres tail slides, when you turn 90 and slide with the tail part of your ski. maybe a fastslide tail slide or a backslide tail slide?

jen was right. go to a rail comp and you'll see all sorts of progessive shit. there was a comp at copper and a kid was doing fronts onto a huge flat-down box. others were doing swich disasters over kink rails. i also saw a kid doing switch ups on the kink which is real tough.

buttering and nose/tail presses are pretty progressive, too.

Plenty of things you can do! 270 on, starting fakie, switch, exiting fakie, 270 or 450 off, popping 180 if its long enough (saw a guy do it) unnatural, one footers, transitions (if its done slowly SO SICK) like 50/50 to 45 to 90 on our rainbow rail, disasters, flips on, others….

My god... i can't think of anything funny to say here

skiing has no disadvantage on rails compared to snowboarding, andy stewart was nosepressing a really big rainbow last weekend, he was doin 270on and off, fakie 270 on and off, fakie unnaty, fakie 270 switchups, blindside switches, spin ons, with blind side switches, like, the possibilities are endless.... we can butter, we can 5050, theres no downfall to skis...

any by you guys saying 'oh i hope it dosent turn into rollerblading cause that would be gay' why would you try and limit progression? if the sport goes there, thats where it goes... its not like your going to automatically have to start doing souls and kindgrinds (adam) just do your own thing

Wow, what is with all these people talkin about nose slides and tail slides. I really fail to see how this is physicaly possible. The only way to do it is to be in the air with your skis on the rail, not actually putting pressure on the rail

 
how bout edge grinds? if it is a double barrel rail you can angel your edge so it is in between the two barrels and grind that way, think it is possible?
