So NJ is getting like 2 feet of snow this week and I completely forgot to get my pivots adjusted to my new boots. If I bring them to a shop it won't be ready in time and I cannot miss this storm, this happens literally once every 6 mf leap years. Someone please help explain how to properly adjust the size boot to binding for look pivots. I'm pretty sure I got just about every tool I could possibly need so I got high hopes, thanks
 
It's pretty easy and it looks like your boots will fit. Disclaimer: I'm sure there is a 'by the books' way to do this. This is not it. If you wreck yourself it's not my fault.

The adjustment screws are on either side of the heel piece (1). Back those out until your boot fits (back them out evenly. Look at the markings on the rods to see that they're equal). Then when it looks like it's roughly in the right spot click in your boot and look at the white tab at the rear of the binding (2). This tab shows you your forward pressure and the back of the tab should line up with the two raised marks on either side of the tab. Adjust the screws (evenly on each side) until the forward pressure is correct. I unclick my boot to adjust this then click it in to see where it is. Might be fine to just adjust with your boot clicked in.

Also I bet there are youtube videos on this.

Yeah this ^. Also to help clarify before you ruin the thread, by ‘back them out evenly’, literally do a half turn on one screw, half a turn on the other etc so you don’t end up moving the dildo bit at an angle and ruining the thread on the screws

I've never used Pivots/FKS. Isn't that how its suppose to look?
 
Do the halfway test. The idea being that once your foot is down and the dildo heel is halfway up, it should snap up and lock. I’ve got fks 120s and that’s been my go to.

Also, damn you gotta a big foot.

lmaoo my foot isn't even abnormally big (10-11) just had much smaller feet when these were mounted. And it's set so far back that the boot literally has to squeeze between the two metal arms to just barely work. Hope it's fine for now

A lot of boots squeeze between the arms, that part is normal
 
So I just put my boots on and tried my absolute hardest to eject from my skis. Like pressing on the tips with all of my weight and more. Even lowered the din to 4. Someone please help me out here what’s going on.
 
I think you’re fine. Pivots are retention bindings. The photo of the heel looks just like my heel. They’re meant to be tight.

Also, I meant you have big boots volume wise. The cruise is a high volume fucking boot lol

I'm sorry but this thread is a disaster waiting to happen. If you don't know what you are doing, don't go messing around adjusting your bindings, ESPECIALLY pivots. Pivots are probably the least user friendly as far as adjusting. Bring them to a shop. Also your din may change depending on your BSL. As your BSL gets larger, your din goes lower. What? How can that be! Big feet big dick big skill level!

Bro, please take these to a shop or at a minimum find someone in person that you trust that knows their shit before you go skiing on those.

Ik I gotta bring them to a shop I'm just trying to make it work for like two days and wanted to test if these could properly release. even at 4 and trying my hardest to eject out of the bindings, they're just stuck to my feet. Just gonna have re adjust them to my old boots for now I don't trust this at all.
 
got about 9 inches or something in CT. I can't tell with all the drifts.

How much did NJ actually get?
 
yeah those look a little too maxed out imo. The heel of the boot is barely making contact w/ the brake it looks like. I wouldn't expect these to release in a fall.

We got scammed here. Only like 9 inches too, supposed to be 16+ according to Mr. weather man. Temps are still super cold tho I'll be blowing all day.

We can't predict the weather 24 hours ahead but we can predict the earths temperature 50 years from now?

I'm just putting an idea out there bro. We know CO² heats up the atmosphere but why the fuck can't weathermen tell me why when my snow starts and stops and to what measurements? I mean in the age of quantum computing which has everything dialed down to an absolute of absolutes why am I taking the idea that earth will be dead by 2050 verbatim?

Just some thoughts on this glorious and stupendous snow day.

climate =/= weather. It's ok to be skeptical about climate change effects but you should at least show a schmidge of competence if your argument my dude

Just like we're warming now, the Earth experienced a rapid and fast cooling that we as humans did not constitute. The most interesting point is the the last paragraph showing a rapid warming in the northern hemisphere.

It's evident that the climate has changed in the past but the evidence for human created climate change post industrialization is pretty solid my man. Now, the degree to which this effect fucks us can be debated, sure. You should start a thread in NSG as I'm sure they'll be some smart and dumb folk alike who would like to input without cunting up this poor kids thread
 
I agree mankind is destroying our planet. That is indisputable. BUT my parents were told that cigarettes were harmless. My grandmum was told she could drink / smoke in moderation during pregnancy. I was told E cigerattes were safe. I was told initially in America that cannabis would harm my brain cell capacity and hurt me mentally.

Let's go back to when our ancestors were told the Earth was flat . What about when the sun revolved around the earth (Heliocentrism)? What about when slavery was accepted?

Sorry to disrupt your little climate change argument but took them to the shop today, waited almost an hour, and an 18 year old kid walks back with my skis and says "ya we can't like remount these they'd be like off-centered if we did". wtf does that even mean bro. I was already late for something so I wasn't even gonna bother working it out and getting my skis fixed but now what.
 
Did you ask him to clarify? And were your skis center mounted or mounted at recommended?

Yeah need way more info lol but my guess is they were center mounted and the adjustment required is big enough that they have to do new holes, so they can't put them at center again?
