There needs to be a trick tip forum!

Ski gabber has become more than half trick tip threads lately which is kinda annoying. It would be cool if there was a new forum to put all these threads.

Yes I know there is a trick tip cult but nobody uses it. Plus most of the newer members probably didn't even know cults existed.
 
Honetly, ive watched a bunch of "how to" videos and they help nothing. You just gotta huck it. Being told how vs. Doing are way different.
 
This should probably be in site discussion.

Also, half the problem is that people repost the same threads over and over again... so if they used the searchbar...
 
A trick tip forum would be nice, but way more people look at ski grabber which means fast replies, and better replies, also since no one would look at the trick tip forum everyone would still post them in ski grabber

Yup but people were still posting everything in SG so they got rid of it.

I almost think they should just get rid of the cults. If they aren't going to get pushed at all. The longer they sit there, the more dead they become.

You know a lot of trick tip videos actually aren't that helpful. Most are so generic. Like think about it. No matter what the trick is it's the same trick tip. "So you wanna make sure that you're comfortable with [going switch or hitting the jump] then you wanna come in and you really wanna have a nice pop. then you set the rotation with your hips and shoulders. Then you wanna bring your feet up and get the grab. Then you wanna spot your landing and ride away. That's how you do a [whatever the fuck you didn't learn]

Same with regionals, i also don't know what the fuck is going on with like 75% of the shit on this website, the majority of it isn't used at all

Regionals has some signs of life but dies more every year. You have people asking extremely area specific questions in the main forums, because"reagionals are dead" and that seals the fate even more.

I will forever miss the cults though.

I probably never would have made an account if it wasn't for the cults.
 
Well I didn't make my account, but I wouldn't have really used it if it weren't for the cults. I didn't really start posting heavily in sg nsg until 09.

Idk I miss that individual flavor and freedom of the cults.

Somebody needs to hijack NS and force people to join a cult or be forever banned. Probably 3/4 of the active member on the site don't even know what the cults are.

I guess the cults don't matter for the future but I'll miss them.

yeah there was, and we merged it back into SG. Wasn't extremely popular, and hardly anyone these days goes to check multiple forums. The generation of the single aggregated feed has made it tough to separate stuff like that.

We could look at doing it again, but I'd need to see a ton of interest. Might be a bit better with the new notifications we have.

Yeah the notifcations help. The few cults I'm still active in the notifications are the only reason I check.

We fucked up by not putting this feature out much earlier.

I have a feeling cults are a thing of the past. We are looking at ways to make them more engaging in a mobile single-feed centric world... but nothing has stuck as of yet.
