Theoretical Question

So lets say, theoretically, you have to live in one of these cities for the rest of your life, and can only ski the hill closest to it. would you rather live/ ski in:
Glacier/BakerHyak/SnoqualmieSkykomish/StevensEnumclaw/CrystalWanatchee/MissionNaches/White
Personally I'd probably go with Hyak, but I can see appeal to others. Actually I'd probably go with Leavenworth/Stevens, but I figured that was too good compared to the other options I provided.

from that list, I would say Hyak just because it is the closest to civilization (read: work... = boeing field)

In reality I will be buying a house in North Bend. Close to work/city, and close to mountains.

yea, i tried to select cities that would, at one point or another, potentially deplete your soul, except for wanatchee but that was moreso because i couldn't think of any others near mission.

You forgot Packwood/White since most of the cities you mentioned are on the westside. I'd rather kill myself than live in Packwood. Just my opinion though.

I would choose Skykomish/ Stevens. I have skied Stevens my whole life and absolutely love it and have spent a fair amount of time in Skykomish.
