Theist, Atheist, or Agnostic?

is there an angry unicorn on the dark side of the moon? was the universe created by a superior being or chance physics? what choice do we have but to be agnostic
 
Agnostic... I only seem to believe in a God when I'm in the shit and need some outside help. Does that mean I believe, I don't think so, just means I'm conditioned to believe there's a higher power to appeal to in cases where I'm obviously fuckered
 
I'm agnostic, still trying to figure out exactly why I think we are here. The reason I turned agnostic was due to the fact that science disproves almost anything religious, and also different religions have different beliefs so how can you determine which one is "correct"?
 
I'm kind of leaning towards Diest. There is a God and he is sort of like a watch maker. He sets everything up and starts it but after that it just runs itself.
 
I'm athiest, I enjoy having my sundays off to do what I want to, and there is nothing to back up what the bible says. I also listen to Tool on sundays.
 
What did science prove was wrong? and provide a source, it can be passed through words, but it cant be proven, its kinda like the muslim religion...no offense to anyone, but basically Muhammed basically went in a cave, and "claimed" that he was a God, and God had given him his reign, but besides that so many religions, have been altered, and created in to new ones, christianity, catholocism, and even the Jew's have been around for centruies, while mormonism, and some other religions have just been in the past 300-400 years....u cant precisely determine which relition is correct, its based upon what you beleive, and what you accept, personally christianity has been able to put all the peices of the puzzle together in my life, there are some feelings i have gotten on mission trips, and praying w/ people i can not explain, and thats how i know what i beleive is correct. I dont think its so much about religion, but more about beleiving that Jesus died for all of us, to give us that chance, and that God is our almighty father, and he loves us, and he sent his son to die for us, and from what i have learned and experience, that is what i beleive, but i think everyone is entitled to there own.
 
i have my sundays off, and spend the majority of them skiing, and im not an atheist...nothing to back it up? oh really? how about the arc...or tons of other artifacts that have been found, alright so if there is nothing to back it up, than im assuming u beleive in nothing? does your life ever feel complete? do you know where ull go when you die? What is there to prove any evolutionists ideas? big bang bull crap? molecules coming together? How can so many little molecules possibally come to gether to explain how perfect a human being is, think about it, when we are being devoloped in our mothers womb, when you think about how small u start out, and how everything comes together so perfectly, how could u possibally say thats cuz of a big bang....or from "nothing" even the mtns you ski dude, everything about this world is so dam intricate, that an entire ego system, continues a continous cycle year after year, century after century and so on, there is just no possibal way a cell decided how the entire world was going to be created.
 
Blah blah blah. Quit trying to force your beliefs on people, it's one of the most annoying things in the world. A kind and loving God wouldn't allow people to do shit like that, it makes me want to stab them with a rusty spork.

Fuck yes. The church of the Dave will be located atop Blackcomb, located in newly-seceded Davebekistan. You can best pay him homage by miraculously producing beers for his divine consumption... but that's my office. Find your own way to appease him. Surely there are many.

atheist and i believe i'm right, actually i know i'm right. every religion is wrong. i believe this firmly. all my questions are answered in physics and through the string theory.

ok. think about how long ago religion was created. Since then there has been millions of crazy church people that have changed some shit. For example back in the day, people thought that their sins could be forgiven by fixing a roof on a church or something. Now we think our sins can be forgiven by telling them to a holy church person. I think everything about religion is made up bull shit. I do believe in a god.

Too bad you need like a PhD in mathematics to understand that. And string theory is a theory and remains unproven whether or not some insanely ridiculous equations work on paper.
 
i don't need a phD in math to understand it. you need the PhD to know how it works mathematically. i've learned a lot on it and it makes more sense than anything else. you can't tell me that i can't believe that because its a theory then not say anything to ANYONE that believes in a god. no religion has any proof either, or any mathematics to back it up.
 
I'm not really trying to hate on string-theory. It has led to several breakthroughs in other fields of math/science. And in my opinion follwing string theory blindly is the same as following a religion blindly. You can't prove either one, but if you believe it, who cares.
