anyone heard of a band called the xx? really legit band, been around for a bit now, but i just got their cd recently. here's a few videos for you. also i searchbarred and nothing came up

also i considered putting this in m&a but i thought more people would see it here
 
i am a fan; i was really into their album last summer. I think that "Intro" is one of the best songs on the CD, if not the best. I also really like Islands, Basic Space, VCR, Heart Skipped Beat, and Crystallized. I can listen to the whole album straight through though... i really like it's vibe. lyrics can get kind of weird though, most of the songs are about the member's of the band and their struggle with their addiction to crystal meth.
 
eh i am not positive on this, but i don't think that it is in revolver. i love that song, and have seen that movie so many times... i am sure that it would have jumped out at me the first time i saw the movie. I have heard the song in a few ski edits here on NS, as well as in Liam Downey's summer edit (they used a remix of intro, that features Nas). It is such a sick song for an edit, if you have the right shots that is.
 
Intro is definitely one of the best. I feel in love with it during the Olympics when AT&T was playing an ad featuring the song.
 
because i don't actually know anyone in the band/associated with the band, i can't be 100% sure; however, I have read in numerous blogs that what I say is true. If you read the lyrics, it is pretty obvious that they are about some kind of addiction.
 
the meth thing could well be right, but all the songs can easily be read as love songs. i'm not saying either way, but i hear them as love songs
 
fuck yes, i love the xx, i feel like no one on NS listens to this type of shit, i thought i was the only one. stoked
 
their instrumentals are fairly cool

vocals for the most part are unlistenable.

If anybody has heard the XX x Biggie Mash-up album, its incredible. I know mashups are played, but a lot of the XX tracks put a whole new feel to biggie songs. I dont know a DL link for it, but its called The Notorious XX, and was done by Wait What.

This band is awesome.

Had a friend come sleep over and she was like: within an hour this is going to be your favorite band. She put on a playlist, then we fucked (which is something I really didn't have in mind, but she might...?) and yes: good music!
