we might be messed up now but there were far worse periods of time (they didnt call it the dark ages for nothing). maybe we are starting to fall back into somthing bad, but its human nature (as much as we like to say it isnt) to fight. we have been for thousands of years. Having all the fighting just stop is somthing thats insane to even think about. as long as there arent any nuclear weapons being fired off, ill say that im lucky and take what i have.

ive been thinkin about this- although yes, the world is fucked up, its kinda like sure theres crack heads ( i mean this not literally but generally dumb people) but theres also tons of good people-its human nature to see the bad side of things- and everyone does no matter what- but even people that you may think are dumb could be really smart to someone else- like bush....but theres to many people with to many different views about...well everything to make everyone or even half happy. i think its kind of like a balance-i dont know i was reading this book and it talks about the great balance- and i think it makes total sense. its just because its our right to think for ourselves, everyone does-thus so many different views, almost all conflicting, but still none are right or wrong...i think its depressing, that it will really never change. unless.....

I realize that the world has always been 'fucked up' and i think that it's getting worse. It has nothing to do with watching the news, i dont even watch the news it's all bullshit and propaganda.. I was mainly refering to drugs becoming worse. You guys might not see it but you dont realize how incredibaly easy it is to become a drug addict..

I dont consider myself a drug addict.. a pothead yes but once you start taking other shit like speed/ex/heroin/cocain you live in a totally different fucked up world.. I'm seeing it happen to a lot of my friends and more and more people these days are taking drugs!

And i think that because of drugs something big is soon gonna happen, thats what i was trying to say last night.

Also note that i dont consider myself a genius and that im not trying to act all 'enlightened'. I probably have an average IQ and i consider myself fairly average. So me saying all this shit that i am was mainly because i was stonned and had nothing better to do at the time

every body thats talking about how the world has allways been fucked up, ur not looking back far enough, if you look past the agricultural revolution things were nice, there wasnt universal peice, but everyone was a hell of a lot happier, people werent better or anything like that, they just had a system that worked for people, and people are by nature greedy and nasty. thats the problem with our civilizations, the system would work great if only people would change and be nicer. its obvious that people arent going to change regardles of laws and punishment for breaking them, have laws ever changed people? i mean if you think about it laws are made to be broken, because people by nature do fucked up stuff. when you look at something that didnt work last year does it make sense to do more this year or to try something new

Wow. I really think that this world is incredible. Sorry if I sound all bright and protected, because I am not. I grew up in tough circumstances and I have lived in a 3rd world country for two years. Its not that I havent seen the bad that the world has to show, but rather that there is so much good too. There are going to be cool people and assholes every single place that you go. I am just grateful to have great friends around me and the beautiful mountains that are here. We can criticize governments and policies all we want, but when it comes down to it all, you will determine what your world really is.

yeah and if youve studied rome any, youd know that overall slaves were treated greatly, so much better than black slaves or even american workers during the industrial revolution, most slaves didnt spend their whole life in slavery and they were able to sleep inside nice houses, eat plenty of good food, and most of them didnt really have to work that hard, so basically the slavery aspect of that civilization wasnt that bad, and their society was equivalent to american society right now, with many places where the poor could be helped, they had running water and toilets almost like we have today, so i would agree with j.d. may and say that that was the golden age of humanity, though we may have yet another golden age ahead of us if we can get rid of terrorists and dictatorial regimes like iran
