It's not our fault we caught a group on their way home from a geography bee. And they taught us that Uzbekistan is one of the world's two doubly-landlocked countries!

no way this is fake! americans don't know anything about the rest of the world! only canadians do and they also know more about the states than we do! heck they know everything b/c their public universities are so fucking affordable and some of the very best in the world!

two things that NS has no clue about: the US (for those Canadians), and hip-hop (for about 98% of the website)

Now im not too sure what you dun said ther, but it soundid like you were makin fun of america. So fuck you foreigner! Its ameriCAN not ameriCANT!!!!!

Yeah i may have come off a bit snide, but I do hear and interact with Canadians every day, and simply form my impressions based on that. I don't think I am special for being here, in fact, i am glad to be living here, and moved up here for a different experience. But don't pull the whole 'you are so ignorant card'. You also cement the Canadian 'holier-than-thou, i am very smug and conceited' stereotype. And I am not saying that everyone is like that, but that is the general feeling I get most of the time. Anyway, I enjoy both countries quite a bit, but at the end of the day I would say i like the atmosphere of the states a lot better-at least in the Northeastern cities. The people there have a certain edginess to them that so far I have seen a lot of Canadians lack. You're going to find people on both ends of the intelligence spectrum in the States, but I find the people to be more interesting and fun to be around. There exists more of an outlier population that keeps things more interesting. Canadians come off as quite bland to me and lack in the sense of humor dep't a lot of the time, but hey I don't know everyone in the country, so that of course is a generalization too.

i agree with the idea that the east coast has an edge..... and i can say in Chicago people are in a hurrypeople in Oregon are way way laid back... i have seen a bumper-sticker that said.. "keep Portland passive aggressive"

i find it interesting that che guevara lived and died to fight capitalism just to end up on t-shirts from target and a canadian freeskier's internet avatar.

I've lived on the east coast my entire life. I've been to Canada, Mexio, and some parts of the US. First off, I would like to say without a doubt that East Coast ppl definitely have an "edge". We have a type of humor that is hard to understand. Things are the most funny wen you are "making fun" of someone or something, idk why. the west coast seems pretty laid back and everyone is pretty nice and easy to get along with. The south on the other hand is completely different, we should have divide into two different countries imo lol.

Americans are just very good at doing things for our own self-interest, much better than the rest of the world. There is a reason we have the world's largest economy, because we have been able to open up foreign markets and bring down trade barriers. While European countries were feuding with each other for 200+ years we were building up our influence. Now we get to use that influence to get what we want, mainly oil.
