The Who is a great underrated band.. you can here who influences in allmost all off modern rock. it is amazing to me how many genras the who influenced with thier music.
 
Underrated? Definitely not. They're regarded at the same level as Zeppelin and Floyd, which is lame. I personally think they're overrated, although Tommy is an awesome album.
 
Seeing the Who live now is a joke. No Keith Moon, no John Entwistle. Robert Daltrey and Pete Townsend are washed up. They should've stopped when Keith Moon died. He was the heart of the band.
 
Just... listen to Who's next as a whole. Them Tommy as a whole. Then Quadrophenia (but Who's next first, remember). Fucking amazing band right there, definetely in my top 5.

The way Keith Moon uses drums as more than a simple tool for keeping rythtm (Baba O'Riley, Won't get fooled again), John Entwhistle's incredible, incredible bass (the Real me, for example, or the bass line on Pinball Wizard), the incredible composing skills of Townshend (he wrote the entire Tommy album, and all of the others... props), and Daltrey's voice on Who's next is probably one of the most well-balanced; not over the top like Plant or Geddy Lee, but very powerful.
 
Did anyone else notice he said one of his fav. songs was Teenage Wasteland? come on people, thats like saying your favorite floyd song is we dont need no education!
 
Sure they are. Just in different ways. I'd say they're not quite as good as Zeppelin, but they are close. And Pink Floyd is too different from both those bands to be compared.
 
thank you, you cant even compare those bands, some kid at school was asking around whos better, zeppelin or the who, i would probably say zeppelin but you shouldnt even be comparing them
 
did you just say that pink floyd is better than zeppelin and the who? first of all, they're completely different bands. second of all, i bet you've never heard anything else other than DSOTM and The Wall. Third of all, grow up and stop comparing bands to eachother.

they are each their own band. the only band i can think of maybe comparing the who to would be the beatles. thier both pop bands form the same era and they both have the same amount of influence on music (almost). its all about opinion anyways.
