I saw this and was surprised about who owns some of these companies.

Very cool. I used to be up on all of that when I worked in a shop. Then you start to realize that DC snowboards look a hell of a lot like Rossignol among a bunch others.

Huh. Interesting that Ray Ban and Oakley are the same company. No wonder nobody cares that Frogskins are a ripoff of Wayfarers. Also interesting to know Billabong owns Sector 9 and Volcom owns Electric. When I tell my boss that he is going to probably only buy Electric goggles for now on lol. Guy is obsessed with Volcom.

quiksilver(or its parent company?) sold rossi last year i thought?

they did, and quicksilver does not have a parent company.

Quiksilver owned the Rossignol group for a short time. During this time Rossignol owned Mervin(Libtech/Gnu). Quiksilver then sold Rossignol/Dynastar/Lange back to an investor group consisting of the former President of those companies. Quiksilver kept Mervin though, presumably partially because of Travis Rice's involvement with those companies.
