anybody seen this flick? i just watched it tonight, i enjoyed it. then again i was puffing and passing, but i think i would enjoy it nonetheless. pretty deep stuff, makes me wish the 90's never ended, and that the 80's never died.
 
idk, i havent seen it and its not wise to make an oponion about a movie with out seeing it but, i grew up in queens, n.y. from 0-18yrs and the dialog that i saw in the diff trailers didnt ring true. i always wish some one made a movie capturing that era because it was indeed very particular and special time in nyc, but i think alot was lost in translation for this movie,
 
i thought the music was sick as hell but the movie sucked. maybe it is just cause i cant stand that stupid josh peck kid
 
i didnt enjoy it at all, in no way shape or form did it capture new york city in the 90's. i was only 9 at the time this move took place, but i still have very vivid memories of the atmosphere and this movie was off, the only thing that made it a "period piece" is every time josh peck would play biggie hed say "its biggie smalls, shit just came out" and thats it, if it werent for the music this movie could have taken place in any other time period. just an exuse to have a movie with legendary music in it. lame

i thought it was an ok flick, nothin too special but enjoyable solely cuz of ben kingsley, he rocks
 
yes! NYC in the 90s was the place to be. there was so much cool stuff happening then and its all being forgotten. its a really sad thing to see, actually. an accurate cinematic portrayal of life in the golden era would be really cool.

as for the movie, i havent seen it but it looks kind of cheesy. from the trailers, it seems like no one working on the movie actually experienced it. maybe i just need to see the movie, though.
