The only thing most big studios are better at is making highly detailed large scale 3d environments. This can be cool but it has almost nothing to do with wether or not the game is fun.
 
Bought Red Dead Redemption 2 a couple months ago and finally made it thru the "Snow" I can safely say I am fully addicted.

Ahh yes CS2, truly a hidden gem unheard of in the mainstream. Do people really fall for bots on this site, hardly seems worth the effort.
 
Apparently there's another cyberpunk mini update coming with "hotly anticipated gameplay elements"

I have no idea what they are, my unattainable pipe dream would be some co-op play, but if I had to guess I would say a ng+ mode

The link they dropped wasn't even an affiliate so it isn't like a random guy getting a cut of anyone dumb enough to use it, it's just straight-up advertising for an already well-known skin trading site. The time put in, no matter how small, seems pointless to the potential benefit, I wonder if it's for some sort of SEO manipulation where if their link is indexed on more websites they get higher up in search results.

I think you're on the right track, but I couldn't say for sure. It's clearly worth something because we still gets tons of bot/spam, be does do quite well for some Google search topics.

I have to do a factory reset on the official dock every time I take it off to play in handheld to get it to reconnect the deck to my television. I looked up solutions and found a bunch of Reddit discussions that were basically like “yeah valve knows about this issue and will get around to it eventually”

I understand difficulties with emulation and software requirements but it’s lame that most of my games library won’t run on the deck; plus even with games recommended for the deck I’ve found I’ve had to reboot it because of lag and freezing issues six times in the two days I’ve had it out of the box.

Yeah the switch is far superior, the steam deck could be good one day, if they keep producing it.

In development for so long, unbelievable hype, and the trailer leaks early on Twitter. Gotta feel for the people who made it. Now just have to wait 2025.
 
I was never able to get into gta for sone reason. can't quite put my finger on exactly why. Probably will give it a shot though

Same. Love read dead. Always get halfway through a GTA storyline and fall off.

Still gonna buy it cus it's such a fun game to just fuck around on though
 
Shits not even going to come out on pc for 1-2 years after initial release I bet given rockstar’s history of doing exactly that. Lame

yeah I could definitely see that struggling on gta 6 in what will likely be 2026-2027. I lost my mind and bought a 4080 this year, hopefully it should be good for at least 5 years

I could definitely run it at like 60fps at 1080p but yeah, i could pop a 3070/4060ti in and I could maybe push 120fps at 1440p, but my rig is a space heater and is 5 years old so basically im looking for an excuse to upgrade XD.

That being said, i'll need a 1440p 240hz monitor to make it worth it, so overall its a large investment that I will be waiting to make as long as possible.

why a 240hz monitor? Just curious, I have a 144hz monitor and I find my eyes can barely tell the difference between 100 and 144hz

regarding the space heater comment, I prefer i7's for that exact reason. The last couple generations of i7 have only been 2-3% slower than their i9 counterparts and they don't run nearly as hot

240hz is really for shooting games, I play CS2 the most and 240hz vs 144hz is a small difference, but you can notice it especially with higher tick servers, higher end perfirials, etc. For any single player/casual game, 144 is perfectly fine for sure.

Good call on the cooler setup, it doesn't really affect me other than worrying about the eventual demise of the CPU, but it hasn't melted yet. It actually helps keep my room warmer in the winter, kind funny.

I may consider i7 for my next rig, but I'm a sucker for top specs haha

I think it’s the writing in Red Dead games is much better than in GTA; I found myself more compelled to finish the stories in Red Dead because I was invested in the characters beyond them just being a proxy for mayhem.
 
Just finished Rain World. Super cool game. I can't recommend it enough for any indie game fans out there. I will definitely play through it again at some point. Really cool pixel art and level design, unique mechanics, good soundtrack. I really like how you wander through the levels and try to explore and survive instead of just completing levels in a linear fashion. Only thing I would warn about is that it doesn't explain all the mechanics to you, or where you are supposed to go next. You have to figure it out. Also there are some really difficult parts that made me rage quit numerous times.
 
Been back on BF1 and then saw that BF V was 90% off. Gonna finally try it out, i hear its a decent game now. Either way it has to be better than the dumpster fire of 2042
 
Got Spider-Man 2 for my sisters bf for Xmas, they’re gonna be seeing a lot more of me after the 25th let me tell you

PlayStation store! The normal version is full price but the definitive edition with all dlcs/guns is on sale.

Matchmaking is pretty good. There's probably 10-15 Dice lobby's of conquest going at a time and they're usually all almost full games. Other game modes I'm not too sure about tbh

BFV is fire. you'll enjoy it. I'm so fucking old that BF 1942 was my game back in the day.
