8th grade is no where close to the age you are able to commit to a life a servitude. Can you honestly say that you knew exactly who you were as a person when you were 13? I sure can't.
I'd like to think that I have a very good opinion, because unlike other non-believers on this site, I was a good christian boy for the first 13 years of my life. In my church (I'm not sayin all, but I'd guess a good percentage) they make you seem like the worst person in the world if you aren't baptised and sin free. Every week I would hear that pornography, masturbation, and cursing were terrible sins that sent you to hell. So I was fearful of burning in a never ending fire when I was 13. Do you think that's healthy for a young kid? I sure don't think so.
So I was baptised into the church in a ceremony that scared me because they said my sins were gone but I could still burn. It was at that point I started questioning everything I've been told and changed my mind on things.
