these guys are pretty good. their music's real depressing though. i saw them live though and they were horrible, but buy the cd anyway. there's many good tracks on it. i found it for $5 at best buy.

Saw em live at the warped tour last summer... sucked complete ass... never bothered with em after that, kinda made a bad impression. They did do a good job of giving madd props to the band playing after them ill give em cred for that.

I think they have changed some of their songs around for the CD that they sell in music stores now.. the new versions sound a lot better... I recomend downloading the music video for 'A box of sharp objects' or 'the taste of ink'(Mp3).

It makes me more aggressive than depressed. It's not really emo at all.

Being Irish, I guess I should resent the Notre Dame nickname 'The Fighting Irish.' After all, how long do you think nicknames like 'The Bargaining Jews' or 'The Murdering Italians' would last? Only the Ironic Irish could be so naively honset. I get the feeling that Notre Dame came real close to naming itself 'The Fuckin Drunken, Thick-Skulled, Brawling, Short-Dicked Irish'

All you who say they suck live must have a horrible taste in music. They're from Utah, so they come back and play here all the time. I've been to 7 of their shows and I think they are one of the most incredible bands out there. And why did I see EMO in the same sentence as The Used. Emo is the fucking Ataris and Simple Plan, The Used is straight up punk. Get your shit straight. As for songs to listen to:

Taste of Ink, and Box of Sharp Objects are way to overplayed, good but overplayed. Well, maybe just in Utah.

They hardly ever play them on the radio in Canada.. Although that will probably change soon .. And simple plan is emo??? Sorry man, not even close... you should really get your shit together…. simple plan is pop... The best examples of emotional that I can think of are 'Saves the day', 'Dashboard confessional'… and 'the get up kids'… Which are all amazing bands..

You know why those two songs are overplayed in Utah??? Cause they are the best songs on the Cd… although the whole Cd is amazing… get 'box full of sharp objects' and ' The taste of ink' FIRST…

I strongly recommend buying the whole Cd either way….

 
dashboard should be in an 'emo' class of it's own. super emo, maybe. some get up kids stuff also qualifies for this category. the best emo stuff out there is probably moneen, bright eyes, and saves the day. but i digress. the used is pretty good and i look forward to the stuff they will put out in the future.

SicYo, I guess you're right. I thought Taste of Ink and Box of Sharp Objects were the grestest songs ever made when I first heard them. Im just kinda sick of them now. Especially because all of these girls at my school think they're punk because they like The Used, and when I ask them what some of the songs are, those are the only 2 they can come up with. But The Used still are amazing, I'm just into some of their other songs. And we'll just call it even and call Simple Plan shit.

the used is awesome, my friend was playing the cd in his car when we were riding along and that was the first time i had heard them, they are so good!!

what the hell darksider17.... Simple Plan and the Ataris are NOT emo, they are punk. maybe its because im from the EC thats why the are classificed that way but get ur genres straight, lol. Dashboard, juliana theory, brandtson..those are real emo. simple plan crap is pop/punk

the used are reeeal good. i love the song Poetic Tragety..his voice in the middle of the song is rediculous.
