The USD/CAN goes past 1.0000

Yes it happened just recently, but way back they were dead even with us before dropping off bigtime for a few decades there.

this really isn't news, the canadian dollar surpassed the USD in 08?, only for a short time but it hasn't fluxuated greatly since then, in comparison to when Canadian currency was worth something like $.60 to every american dollar.will this change anything? No, tourism has suffered greatly in the last couple years and Vancouver will still offer great tax breaks for film companies, Canadians still pay wayyyy more for goods, and cars are a prime example of this, it will take years until the two currencies are really considered "par".
The other important thing to realize is that, it's generally not that canadian currency is rising, but american currency decreasing, soon both will be compared to the stronger and more stable euro.
