You generalize: You often assume quotes and statements out of context and take complicated problems with multiple complex shades of grey and reduce them to simple black and white assertions. For example you have just supported an argument which couches the entire Iran-Syria-Lebanon Shia/ crescent relationship together with the U.S.- Israeli relationship in a mano-a-mano conflict in which the sides are both apparant and antagonistically opposed to each other. This is just not the case. These two 'blocs' lets call them, though relatively politically and religiously oriented, are such complex organisms that you cannot possibly make an assumption about the future events based solely on political juxtaposition. yes there is politics and posturing, but there are other considerations: the world economy, the human condition, morals and ethics, international opinion, Youtube and facebook (as part of world inter-connectedness and government accountability) civil rights, civil protest. All these things are factors working against each of these countries doing exactly what you state they ARE CERTAIN to do. One does not simply go to war. Similarly, Iran does not simply launch a bomb or mount an attack for some idealistic crusade. One man does not have that power in these nations. Even Ahmendinejad is accountable to his Ayatollah. You think the World economic embargo isn't changing the everyday Iranian's opnion of the government?? (Look up the Iranian Chicken protests. yes chicken protests. the price of chicken has people up in arms against the government)
Reducio ad absurdum: You follow a chain of events to its seemingly 'logical' conclusion simply because each step along the way seems to make sense and follows the other. Really, at each further step the chance of the whole process happening as described is less likely because its preceding step hasnt even happened yet. Iran has said this, Syria is doing that. America and Israel are in cahoots over this and that. So it must follow that this will occur. Once this occurs it is only logical that this will occur.... so on and so forth. Nothing is inevitable. I cant stress that enough. It goes without saying that a NATO which can't even make a decision about intervention in Syria isnt about to attack Iran. Might Israel? maybe but I can guarentee the Israeli public wouldnt stand for it.. which brings up the third point:
You dont 'know' anything: Sounds offensive right? Well you don't. have you been to Israel? have you been to Iran or Syria? Whats your level of expertise in inter-governmental affairs, political science, history or anything? What have you experienced first-hand? Nothing. Just what the internet and media have told you. I guarentee that scholars who make their living travelling to these places, speaking the languages and who have personal links to this kind of politics can't even figure this out. What do you know that they don't? That is why this is a freeskiing website, not a political website yet you are getting worked up over out apparant ignorance when the ignorance is yours alone. We at least ADMIT we don't know enough to conjecture but you cant because as the next point states you seem to be...
Emotionally invested in your argument: You are not objective. You think you are because your 'evidence' reads that way. But you are not. Several of your statements make this obvious. Your defense of conservative thought (admirable though it is for I am also a conservative) agaisnt legions of liberal newschoolers immediately puts a chip on your shoulder which mentally puts you at odds to everyone else's point of view instead of being receptive to criticism. You easily turn this around on us and say no, because we are conforming to a view it is us who rejects you. NO MY FRIEND we are conforming to a view opposite yours because for the above mentioned reasons your view is skewed, wrong, personal, un-informed, ignorant, and illogical. Please take this as an indication that you cannot make headway with this view and cannot hope to find support. Your efforts to do so are useless.
