The Union: The Business Behind Getting High

BC's illegal marijuana trade industry has evolved into a business

giant, dubbed by some involved as 'The Union', Commanding upwards of $7

billion Canadian annually. With up to 85% of 'BC Bud' being exported to

the United States, the trade has become an international issue. Follow

filmmaker Adam Scorgie as he demystifies the underground market and

brings to light how an industry can function while remaining illegal.

Through growers, police officers, criminologists, economists, doctors,

politicians and pop culture icons, Scorgie examines the cause and

effect nature of the business - an industry that may be profiting more

by being illegal.

great find. i actually learned some stuff i didn't already know. i'm not even a big pot head but the law is absolutely retarded. we could possibly end our dependence on foreign oil simply by legalizing industrial cannabis and for some reason we don't. dub tee eff

it was a great documentary, and joe rogan was hillarious, my favorite quote from him was at the end, it was something like, "if your a smart person and you dont look at marijuana laws and laugh, then (after a long pause) your fuckin dumb"

Just posting right now for my threads. Really interesting so far, gonna show this to my friends.

"You would have to smoke 15 000 joints in 20 minutes to get a toxic amount"

"its dangerous if you abuse it? No shit, cheeseburgers are dangerous if you abuse them...I can take a fork and jam it in my eyeball, does that mean forks should be illegal? I can jump off a bridge, should we outlaw bridges?"

- Joe Rogan

Fucking eh man. People need to use some common sense when they hear this old retoric...

bump! everyone, on either side of the decriminalization/legalization debate should watch this.
