Yeah apartments are cheap enough and abundant, and school here is easy I didn't even really try this semester and I got a 4.0 ( i still havnt got one grade back and its prolly B or an A.

The dorms are pretty fun though....you meet a ton of people and everyone has a good time. Id recommend it for the first year but after that Id just get a house or apartment

yeah live in the dorms your first year. it will help you meet people, plus as far as dorms go the u's are fucking pimp. get a place off campus, but close your second year.

hey this long signature thing is the new pink

hey im a californian and really want to go here and am choosing between it and CSU Chico. Chico's 2.5 to 3 hours from Tahoe and SLC is 30 minutes to sik ass resorts.

I guess my only question is what would you do in my shoes...Hit up Chico and the parties, or trek to Utah.

Oh and what is the party scene here? And are there alot of mormans at the U?

thanks-

theres like 1,500,000 people in the salt lake valley if you can't find people to party with you're a loser

^^when i talked to the admissions counselors at the U, they said that they couldn't be positive but they esimate that it's only about 40% mormon, so not all that many, well, not as many as you'd expect. a couple of my best friends are mormon and it's no big deal. and um, def go to the U, 2.5 hours or 30 min., think about it

Yeah man, I'm from freaking Tennessee and in going to the U after I graduate HS in 06. I've got to get out of this shit hole, lol.

Anyways, I was wondering about the housing too. Are there cheap, descent (comparable to the dorms at least) places to rent near campus at about the same prices as dorms?

I want to spend the summer months in Utah too (do some climbing, take trips to Tetons and Rifle and shit), and they wont let you stay in the dorms over summer, right? In that case I'd prob need an apartment. Any suggestions?

you can stay in the dorms over the summer, I did it a couple of summers ago. Houses are nice, but there's no point if you don't have any friends. Dorms first year makes the most sense.

I'm less than a mile from campus and my apartment is 450$ a month. My friend has a three bedroom house, hardwood floors, huge 3 car garage (super pimp place) about a block and half from campus and he pays 900$ a month (total for a 3 bedroom so 300$ a pop)

Yeah if you're a member of the UFS (Utah freeski society) You get either 300$ or 350$ passes to parkcity. Also its only 20$ to join and you get deals at a few shops aswell as special offers and vacations every now and then

Just talk to the head honcho, I think his name is brandon, although that commy never put me on Sports Den's list of people who paid (and I did before we went to water ramps) so I have to argue my way into discounts everytime I go down there.

I've gotten accepted into the U and i'm checkin out the campus next month, i'll let cha know what i think of it when i get back
