Post everything here related to Thanksgiving. OMG it's next Thursday!

Recipes?

Travel / eating plans?

Skiing?

Drinking?

Methinks I'll be baking a turkey, eating a bit early, then heading over to my friend's house for less parent-kid-friendly drinking and debauchery.

my thanksgiving recipee is ski resort fries with extra seasoning complimented with a Mountain Dew and a stolen candy bar.

Wake up. Turkey at Mom's. Turkey and pasta at Dad's. Turkey and pasta at Grandma's. Sleep.

I love being a lazy Italian.

thanksgiving plans:

1. Wake up

2. Go skiing

3. Eat turkey

4. Party

5. Sleep

A 2 day deprivation of food before thanksgiving is also mandatory.

That makes you be able to eat less. Instead of your stomach expanding when you eat food, it will shrink and not be able to hold as much.

My advice, gorge yourself the few days before the big day.

I'll be hanging out with my friends/going to the bar Wednesday night, then driving to my parents' house on Thursday morning to spend the day with some family and eat a ton of food.

I'm looking forward to it, since it's my first Thanksgiving in the U.S. in seven years.

So the turkey, food, family, and friends is something I'm really looking forward to. Pardon me for getting excited a week early!

Sort of depends on the night before thanksgiving. If i just end up staying at home, i'll be getting up early, going on a nice long run, eat some breakfast, fuck around for a few hours, then have an intense lifting sesh to prepare myself to demolish some turkey. I realize how bro that sounds, yes.

my t-day dinner is bomb always.

dinner rolls

mashed potatoes

scalloped potatoes

turkey

ham

cranberry sauce

candied yams

green bean casserole

oyster casserole

this other dish that i have no idea what it is but it's delicious

stuffing

the best carbonated jello with like a weird crust thing

and my grandma's homemade pies!

ahhh thanksgiving. i fucking LOVE IT... i honestly don't know why i'm not 100 lbs heavier than i am.

have to go to my grandma's :x she always smokes when making the gravy and it tastes like ash, but the pumpkin pie is raddd

Bump, it's in two days.

I've getting my shopping list together, methinks it's going to be turkey (duh), a salad, a couple of veggie sides, cranberry sauce, and lots of booze.

Thank God or whatever I'm not flying or traveling, just staying put where I am.

To avoid a dry turkey mix up some herbs and spices with non melted butter. Lift the skin of the turkey with your fingers and slide the butter in between the skin and the meat. Also I'd recommend bagging that shit too. Done it this way in years past and it's soooo juicy.

Also oyster stuffing is the shit.....that is all.

I usually brine the turkey overnight, it's always been a guaranteed juicy turkey.

Ingredients: salt, sugar, some spices like thyme and bay leaves, garlic cloves, maybe a lemon / orange thrown in there.

wake up, work for double pay, head down to ford field (cousins' state championship game), head to g and g's, eat copious amounts of food, sleep

forgot the important part of waking up the next morning to go shopping with my uncle bob and watch him piss off serious black friday shoppers with such lines as "i saw that first, i saw that first!"

and what just soak the bitch over night in it??? I have been interested in brine recipes this year but I don't think I'm gonna make a turkey after all. That sounds interesting though.

Yeah, add all that sutff to a couple gallons of water, submerge the turkey overnight, stick it in the garage or the fridge.

Wash the turkey before cooking, and go bake it until the interior is 168 F.

Okay so before the meal way yourself and then after the meal way your self and post how much you gained in this thread. Thatd be fun haha

For breakfast:Nothing! Cause I just got my wisdom teeth pulled and can't eat anything solid!Maybe a smoothie or something if it doesn't hurt to drink out of a straw.

Lunch:Nothing!
Dinner:Half of the bottle of painkillers that the doctor gave me so I can't feel pain when I eat followed by:RibsTurkey skinTurkeySodaMashed potatoesStuffingSaladSquashPumpkin PieChocolate Cake

something along the lines of this?

My dad usually grills up some steaks or prime rib and my mom makes some mashed taters, stuffing, and the other traditional thanksgiving delicacy's.

class in the morning. Probably stopping by the chelsea superstore to pick up something for a buddy, then heading up to the grove to sort out some ticket issue, then going to the airport to pick up my cousin. Wrapping it all up with a delicious burger king dinner to welcome her.

Fuck turkey.

Best thanksgiving I ever had was fried Red Snapper. Cooked whole, served on a plate were two whole fish. So good.

This year I think we're going with ribs or fajitas.

I am in the Spokane area right now and it is dumping snow. But I have to catch a Greyhound bus to Seattle tomorrow.

Am worrying greatly that the pass may be closed and I won't be able to get some much needed time at home.

I tried cooking a turkey once. I was also a vegetarian and clearly didn't know what I was doing and served a only half-cooked turkey. It's the thought that counts! Until someone gets food poisoning.

you might not make it, people were on the viaduct (sp) in one spot for 5 hours yesterday. your going to have some major delays through the pass also.

Shopping done, I think. It's gonna be a healthy turkey day, just one meat dish, and the rest are simply prepared veggies.

Oh, and pumpkin pie, I guess that's not as healthy, haha.

I get to cook for the family, then it's off to meet some friends and participate in somewhat less wholesome activities (read heavy booze consumption).

good luck man, my friends that go to UW sat in traffic for 7 hours just to get to their own airport last night.

I talked with a guy from Yakima that said for now the pass is chains required but the pass is open. So hopefully I can get home. I really need some time away from school even if it is just for a weekend.

bump.

done eating, i'm stuffed. and there's still pumpkin pie to go.

how's the turkey, drinking, and football coming along?
